Suggestions for dinner on New Years Eve?

I'd like ideas where to eat dinner on New Year's Eve. Here are the details -
- would like nice sit down dinner, but not real fancy. Not interested in Emerils.
- family of four, kids 10 & 12
- plane arrives about 4 pm, staying at HRH - thinking dinner may be about 7:30 pm by the time we are checked in and can get to restaurant
- plan to go to IOA or US that evening for rides, fireworks
- since Mythos is fixed price (and more expensive) that night, we plan to eat there Jan 1 or 2
- Dec 31 is my birthday
- would like reservations if possible to reduce wait time, do have priority seating due to staying at HRH

Are any of the other restaurants doing a fixed price, expensive meal? Do the hotel restaurants take reservations? Does the Citywalk party restrict access to the Citywalk restaurants? If so, during what hours?

Wondering about Mama Della's, Sunset Grill, Pastamore, maybe Latin Quarter due to good reviews here, Hard Rock Cafe or Margarettavile. Your choice or other suggestions?

since new years is always a big event and is usually sold out i bet you will have to buy a package if you want to go anywhere in USF, IOA, or citywalk. Your best bet might be the hotels eating establishments.

I would say the hotels as well...there are some great restaurants over at the Portofino...stay away from The Palm at the HRH...it does not live up the the great reviews of the Palms in the rest of the nation.

New Years Dinner at Mythos is priced around the Entree choice. It is a 4 course meal with choices. In addition, it includes an exclusive area to view the fireworks only available to anyone who has dinner at Mythos. For Example, in December 1999 the menu was as follows-
Apps:
Shrimp Cocktail
Wild Mushroom Ravioli

Soup or Salad:
Duet of Soups (Crab& Corn / Lobster Bisque
Baby Romaine Caesar Salad

Entrees:
A Tasting of Lobster $85
Grilled Norwegian Salmon $65
Aged Black Angus Prime Rib of Beef $68
Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb $74
Wood Oven Roasted Filet $72.50

Chocolate New Years 2000


Now, Last new years was a bit different, but the entree alone is worth the price. This included a complimentary glass of champagne as well. The gameplan for this year has not been discussed yet. We just finished our last wine dinner of the year, so Chef Mark will be concentrating on New Years. When I get more information, I will post it. This is a wonderfull treat, and it is not our regular menu which we will be serving for lunch that day.

OK zeus, i am sure it will be worth the price of admission. I may have to sign up for new years and even stay on site so driving is eliminated.
