Hi I am lokking for suggestions on Character Meals that two boys (Son 6 and Nephew 8) would enjoy. We did Chef Mickeys for breakfast last year - may try that for dinner this time. Also did Dinalds breakfast. Just looking for something new & exciting.
Any suggestions for non-characters meals would also be appreciated.
Thanks

Well, the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the BC isn't new, but it would be fun for 2 boys, since it's not really "girly." Minnie usually stands at the door, but Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale walk around the reastaurant in their bathing attire and we always have fun with our DD. Crystal Palace at the MK features Winnie the Pooh and friends, and your 2 boys may or may not love them, but the food is terrific, especially the Puffed French Toast! 'Ohana has Lilo and Stitch, plus Mickey and Pluto, and they give you an all-you-care-to-eat skillet of eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, breakfast breads and fruit.

I don't think any of these is too girly for boys to enjoy...have fun!

I will 2nd Cape May my DS loves it. And Whispering Canyon Cafe another good choice for boys fun meal. Kids like Rainforest Cafe too.

My boys liked Ohana with Stitch, as well as the Garden Grill. Both had great character interaction. Ohana had a fun march around the restaurant with the characters. At Garden Grill we were seated on the outside and they loved watching the scenery change.

We really enjoyed Crystal Palace, but my kids are a bit younger. If they like Pooh Bear and friends though, I'd try that! We went for dinner, and I heard good things from a friend about lunch.

For Boys I would suggest the Garden Grill in the Land at EPCOT. They have Chip and Dale, Pluto, Mickey. Not to mention the characters take there time with your family. It sits a smaller number of people and they come by the table at least 3 or 4 times during your meal.

The Liberty Tree Tavern has wonderful food, and the characters are in Colonial dress!
There are usually Minnie, Chip/Dale, Goofy and Pluto! It's one of our "must do's"!:goodvibes

When my DS was almost 5 we did Crystal Palace dinner (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore) and Donald's Breakfastsaurus (Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto)for character meals. We are going in Feb and I asked DS (now 6) which ones he wanted to do this time (and mentioned CP, Chef Mickey's, the Playhouse Disney one at MGM, Donald's breakfastsaurus) and he said CP for sure. I was a little surprised since he isn't really into Winnie the Pooh like he used to be. We also did Ohana and he liked the activities there.

And he loved the pirate cruise (we did the one at CBR), which would be perfect for 6 yo and 8 yo boys. Our DS is doing the GF pirate adventure in Feb.

I'd say add Coral Reef, we loved our meals there and that sourdough bread, yum. The boys will love the aquaruim and you'll love the serene decor. It is also the one meal my 5yo nephew ate almost everything: apples, pizza, make your own sundae(he did not finish dessert). Also they give you a fish guide so the boys can mark off sea life as they spot it in the tank. A bit educational and a bit of entertainment for them so you can really take a break. We enjoyed our lunch there and hope to return for dinner.

Chef Mickey's was his favorite meal of the trip, #2 favorite thing about Disney. Characters were his #1 favorite thing of the trip. Between the atmosphere, monorail and napkin waving I just don't see a better fit for boys their age. Also at dinner the sundae bar is open. That is just a mess waiting to happen, lol. What would make a 6 and 8 year old happier than being allowed to be loud, eat "all" the ice cream and toppings they can eat AND they can fix it themselves? I think that's why they take the photo before they seat you. ;)

I think you'd be in trouble if you took them to see Pooh, they are "big" boys now and Pooh is for little ones, lol. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the suggestions - I have taken your advice.

I have booked Cape May - It looks great! Also the bonus is we'll get to see all the beautiful Christmas decorations at the Beach Club as well!

Also booked the Coral Reef - The boys will just love the Aquarium- Should occupy them long enough to enjoy a nice meal.

I have 3 boyish ones booked, Donald's, Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace.
I also have CRT booked, but my DS is only doing that for me. :goodvibes

My DS7 love Mickey's Backyard BBQ. They have a cowboy doing a lasso show and they have a band and do line dancing with Mickey, Goofy, etc. Even though in the description it say that the characters don't go around to the tables, they did the night we were there. They also danced the night away with the kids. It was a great experience, we're doing it again this year.
