Hi all.

We are in the early stages of planning our 09 trip back to the World. We have decided to stay off site next year and are bringing along another family for their first trip. I've been researching vacation rentals in the area and to be honest, I'm overwhelmed.

Does anyone have suggestions for a reasonably priced 3 bedroom pool home within 10 minutes driving time to Main Gate? We'll likely just be visiting DW, so the closer to the Disney parks, the better.

We'd like to stay below $800 if possible for a 7 night stay.

TIA!!!

These are a few that I've got bookmarked for future use. Most are bigger than 3 bedrooms but if the price is right who cares.
Lake Wilson Preserve: http://www.vrbo.com/152426 5 br. ( south of Windsor Hills on Old Lake Wilson Rd. technically in Davenport) within 10 min of Disney property ( AK)

Oak Island Cove: http://www.vrbo.com/152426 4 br. 115/nt tax included
Terra Verde 4br townhouse with private pool: http://www.vrbo.com/180803
for 89./nt plus tax.
Liberty Village : http://www.vrbo.com/46592 3 br. $775. wk tax in

Some of the homes in Lindfields, Indian Ridge may give you good deals. If you contact some of the ones that are a bit higher than what you want you might get a better deal from the owner.

I know looking at vacation rentals is sooooo overwhelming, but it is addicting too. You really need to take a few minutes and ask yourself what exactly you want in a rental. It sounds like the minimum number of bedrooms is three, but do you want 3 double bedrooms, or two double bedrooms and one with two twin beds, or two twin bedrooms and one double? We have been traveling with extended family, sometimes with four adult couples and kids, and we have found it is so nice to have enough bedrooms for everyone and avoid having to use the pull out sofa in the main living room. Do you want a king bed in the master suite (for us this is a must)? Do you want a private bathroom for each of the master bedrooms (this is nice if there are adult couples)? Do you want TVs for each bedroom? Do you want just or pool or a pool and a spa? Once you answer these and any other questions you can think of, it makes searching a lot easier. For me, I click on properties on www.vrbo.com, first I look for a spa, if it has one I scroll down to the beds and make sure it has the layout I need, if not, I move on. If it does have the beds I need, then I scroll down to the price and see if it is in my budget, if it is, I bookmark it. I will end up with sometimes 30 homes in my bookmarks folder and then I start narrowing those down. When I get it down to five or less, I contact the owners via e-mail and I ask for a quote including all taxes, pool heat (suggested between Oct-April I think) and fees, and ask any questions I have, and then I go from there. I would think you should be able to find a perfect house that fits your needs in September since you won't need pool heat. We have gotten below $1000 for a 6 bedroom home and that includes pool heat and taxes for a President's Week rental. We are renting in Davenport, which is a little further out, but we don't mind an additional 5-10 minute driving time.

which main gate - there are several.

the futher away the most reasonable the price.

AK is the closest to offsite area - MK is the furthest.

emerald, windsor and some more that I can't remember - are all close.

but they generally rent for more because they are close.

Thanks for the suggestions.

There are going to be 2 families (4 adults and 3 children under 4). 3 bedrooms are really all that we need. I found a great deal on a 3 bedroom 3 bath townhouse in Windsor Hills that I think we're going to book. The price is amazing ($499 for 7 nights plus tax) and it has its own private splash pool. We're still hashing out dates and whatnot, but we are looking to book within the next month or so.
