Suggestions for adult only dining

We are in the midst of planning our next trip for September/October 2014. This trip includes myself, DH and DM. We really enjoyed eating at California Grill and Be Our Guest on the last trip and want to keep restaurant choices to great food and something us adults can enjoy without too much child interruption. We were thinking of adding in Jiko, Citricos and Victoria and Albert's.

My understanding is Victoria and Albert's is the only restaurant with some restrictions on children. Am I correct on this? We really want to focus on the atmosphere and food but sometimes a table of screaming kids completely ruins the meal. Unfortunately being in Disney, this can happen anywhere, anytime. While I love kids and don't mind them at the table next to me, I don't love when they are running around the tables, throwing food and screaming. This happened at California Grill last time but luckily the table left before our entrees came.

Since we can't eat all our meals in kid free areas, does anyone have suggestions for how they have handled unruly kid tables or do you just let it go?

We just got back from an adults only trip and dined at Cali Grill, Citricos, Brown Derby, Artist Point and Le Cellier.

The only big problem we had was at Citricos. There was a table of 7 beside us (2 parents, 4 kiddos and 1 baby). When we sat down, at first, all was good. The kids were behaved. As soon as dinner came, all heck broke loose. We are used to being surrounded by kids so we tried not to let this get to us but it was pretty hard.

The older kids were up around the table, walking around and even under the table. The baby was eating mac n cheese and was throwing it on the floor and all over the table. Where were the parents? Sitting there, eating their dinner, doing nothing. We didn't say anything and just got out of there pretty quickly. (not totally about the kids, we didn't enjoy the food so we didn't savour it, like we did at Artist Pointe and Cali).

We didn't say anything to the family or the restaurant. Being Disney, we did expect to be with kiddos but this was pretty late (8:30) and were surprised the family was eating so late.

Artist Pointe was the best dining experience we had and there was a family (2 adults and 1 kiddo) beside us. Maybe it was the parents because we didn't hear a peep out of the kiddo. (food was delicious!!!)

We probably would have said something (or ask to move somewhere else b/c there were lots of seats) at Citricos if we were enjoying the food more.

I hope this helped

Thanks for taking time to respond to my question. We had the rowdy table of kids around 8:30 and I too thought it was late. Glad to hear your experiences at the other restaurants were pleasant. I wish the nicer restaurants had a way to address tables with kids that are clearly a disruption to other diners. Unfortunately most restaurants are booked up so not sure I would see many scenarios when we could ask to move tables.

It's difficult to get away from the kid thing while dinning at Disney. I typically enjoy going to Cali Grill and never had any problems with children. I also enjoy going to Bomas at AKV. I would hope that parents would have better control of their kids especially while people are dinning. I think if I was in the same situation as you I would have asked to be given a differnt table.
