My cousin is turning 4 soon and I want to plan a trip just the two of us for next year (probably February/March 2009)

She isn't allowed to watch tv usually so she doesn't know the princesses or anything. I'll have to sneak her some movies before we go :lmao:

What are some suggestions for things that I could do/plan to make some great memories? I don't have any kids!

I'm considering the dining plan and getting in a ton of character meals (she's a good eater/well behaved restaurant kid). I didn't do it for my last trip in Jan (DBF and I) because it wasn't worth the cost- but with 1 child and 1 adult is it?

I have an almost 4 year old boy, but I think at this age both boys and girls are excited about the character meals. And I am sure Cinderella's castle will be a big hit! Even my son is excited to see it! One thing I did was sign up for the free planning DVD- my son loves to watch it and it also came with a map that he loves to look at!

We celebrated my dd's 4th b-day at disney! The character meals really do take on a new life with a lil one! soooo much fun!

Some things we like to do to get excited about our trips is watch and read disney stories! my dd loves to watch the disney planning video! lol and also the free maps from disney help get her really excited!

We do count down to trip day! We color special pictures ( free coloring pictures off the net) staple them together and make lil story books then on the back of the picture we write about what we did each day!

im also a huge believer of tinkerbell gifts ( ya leave them around the hotel room for the kids to find) we do this for a few days before disney at home! she gets sunscreen a new bathing suit and usually new sunglasses!

Disney is great with adults but 100 times better with a lil princess! :)

I just wanted to say that there are lots of books out there that have the Disney stories in them, this would be a great way to help her become aquainted with some of the stories.:)
The free vacation planning DVD is great if they will let her watch it.
Also, if you are going to go to lots of character meals, then I think DDP would probably be a good deal for you. Happy planning!

Here are some ideas:

* make her a custom autograph book -- the characters go crazy and really give the children a lot of attention (check out the Creative DISign board for inspiration)

* consider pin trading-- stock up w/ some pins from Disney Store or ebay and trade away at the parks

* collect pressed pennies -- for 51 cents collect pennies smooshed w/a character imprint

* will there be a p&p party when you are going? consider attending

* pack some princess dresses/costumes to wear to a character meal or just for fun

* consider a Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique appt if that would thrill her

* take a pic wearing a hat from every country in Epcot's world showcase

* we love the Tink gifts too

* surprise her w/crocs for the trip and collect princess jibbitz as souvenirs!

Happy planning!

scour ebay for good condition princess dresses, she will love to be adored in the way the CMs adore the tiny princess', our DD now 5 kept whispering to everyone who bowed and called her princess that she wasnt the "real" one, I loved how every cm always looked so SHOCKED:rotfl: :scared1: when she whispered this to them ,,,like it was unbelievable that she wasnt the real one,how magical for us adults enjoying the scene!:flower3:

She loved breakfast at the castle - got to see many of the princess and they take a special photo of you and Cinderella which is included. We did the Tink gifts, but didn't really seem to be a big deal to her :confused3. She really enjoyed getting autographs & pics with characters. Another thing I did was added our names (ironed on) to our disney themed t-shirts. This got her alot of attention and she couldn't figure out how everyone knew her name. She also couldn't believe that I knew all the CM's names either. I thought it was so cute. I told that since we had been there a few days that I had learned everyone's name & couldn't believe she hadn't also.

she really enjoyed wearing princess costume to the parks. I didn't really want her to, thought they wouldn't be very comfortable in the heat, but she loved the attention. She is a ham!!princess:

Since she is not allowed too much TV, how about books? Especially the books about the princesses. Little Golden Books has a lot of the Disney stories. Check your local library for books also.

!

I second this one - great idea for interaction!

Books!! There are TONS of Disney books even at the library. Also, take her to a Disney store before you go! If she sees the characters from the books in another form she may be less intimidated by then when she gets to WDW.

Have fun!
