We are driving down to FL and I think we can make it to Jacksonville by 11-12 pm. I was wanting to have a hotel booked as we ended up in a dive on our trip last year by not booking ahead (return trip, we werent in Jacksonville). Does anyone have a suggestion for a nice/clean hotel in the Jacksonville area off I-95? We are starting out from Roanoke Virginia. Thanks for the help:thumbsup2

One possibility is the Hyatt Place Jacksonville Airport near exit exit 363 off I-95.
If you want to sleep south of Jacksonville, the Hampton Inn & Suites Jacksonville-Bartram Park near exit 335, south of I-295 is another good stop.

A friend of mine has parents who spend the winter in Southern FL. We are from DE. She usually makes it as far as Jacksonville.

There is a Days Inn right off I-95 and she said she paid about $65.00 for the night. They had a continental breakfast and free newspaper.

Thanks for the replies. I should have said that we need 2 rooms (8 travelers--DH, myself and 6 kids:scared1:). Anyway, thats why I want a reasonable room...since we have to have 2. I will look into these suggestions. Anyone else?

Okay, just checked trip advisor for the previous posters suggestions. While on there I found a Red Roof Inn for $49.99 a night. 2 rooms would be $100 plus tax...pretty good. Anyone stayed at the Red Roof Inn Jacksonville?

No, but the Red Roof at Brunswick, GA, the one in Pooler, GA (just inside the GA border going south from SC) and the Jacksonville Airport Red Roof have had favorable reviews from other posters.

There is a very nice Residence Inn at the airport...we've stayed there many times. You could get a room with 2 queens and the pull out couch. I am very picky about hotels.

Im going to check this one out now. Only problem is we will still need 2 rooms. We have DH, myself, 2-21 yr olds, 2-16 yr olds, a 12 yr old and a 3 yr old. Too many for just 3 beds. I dont want to have to pack an airmatress. Thanks for the suggestion. Im off to check out pricing:thumbsup2

I have stayed at the Jacksonville Hampton Inn. It was in good condition and very clean.
