DH and I just booked our resort and flights to be in WDW for our 30th anniversary . It is particularly meaningful for us because we had originally planned to go to WDW for our honeymoon, but due to circumstances beyond our control, that didn't happen.

Anyway, I would like to surprise him with ADRs for a wonderful dinner on our anniversary. I was seriously considering splurging on California Grill and being able to see Wishes, but on reading reviews it seems that it is quite loud inside the restaurant. Plus, that night Wishes starts at 10 pm which will be late for us, since that is the day we arrive after getting up at about 4 am to make our flight.

What other restaurants do you guys suggest?

Top choice all by itself, nothing else comes close: Victoria & Alberts

Second choice: Bistro de Paris

Third choice: bluezoo

Victoria and Albert's is, hands down, the most exquisite restaurant at which to celebrate such a wonderful occasion, IMO. Congratulations on this extraordinary milestone!

Whatever you do, do NOT choose CG! :scared:

V&A's of course, if you want to spend that much.

However, Bistro de Paris is lovely with excellent service. There is an incredible degustation menu, that takes at least two hours to fully enjoy. A perfect time for a milestone anniversary.

Tell them it's your special day and request a window table.

First Choice has to be Victoria and Alberts, well worth the money!!
Second Choice would be Jiko- besides V & A's, best restaurant and service in Disney imho
Third Choice would be Bistro de Paris

GO TO VICTORIA AND ALBERTS!:dance3:

Victoria and Albert's!

Second choice Bistro de Paris in the France Pavilion (Upstairs)

...and we really enjoyed it!
We were seated early, at a table right at the window, and had a wonderful meal- did not think it was too loud.:confused3

BUT, we also enjoyed Narcoosee's for DH's birthday, and found that it was quiet, candlelit and :lovestrucromantic. We arrived early for our ressie and they seated us immediately- and we had as wonderful a dinner there as at CG- the almond crusted cheesecake is to die for!

We enjoyed Jiko, but it is not "romantic" IMO

but my secret desire is to go to Victoria & Albert's...:cloud9:
not much chance of that on this next trip, but someday...:goodvibes

As others have said, V&A if you can afford it. Bistro de Paris second.

I would not recommend Cali Grill - overrated, overhyped. Not that it isn't good, but it doesn't deserve the oooing and aaaahing it gets around here. If it were not on the top floor of the Contemp it would not be nearly as popular. Put it on the first floor it would be no more crowded or popular than any other signature dining location on property. It is noisy, busy, and not at all a "romantic" setting.

If V&A or Bistro are too pricey our favorite signature is Jiko.

Thanks for all the ideas! I don't think I want to splurge that much for V&A's. I will check out some of the other suggestions. Narcoosee's is the one at the end of the dock of the Grand Floridian, isn't it?

Yes Narcoosees is at the end of the dock at GF and can also be quite noisy. Our last time here was just terrible; we felt like we were at a Denny's. If you are looking for something quiet, your best best is Bistro de Paris, Jiko and Citricos. No guarantee on any of these either but we've had better luck at these.
