In addition to my three kids, I'm bringing along my mother in law and a 14 year old niece. She is very interested in the arts, especially drawing (hands are her specialty) and sculpture.

Are there any places, tours etc that would be good for her to visit? I just thought a trip to WDW could be a good place for her to see some magic in the making.

DAK is in itself an artisitc masterpiece! I think there is a tour of DAK check wdwinfo.com

Be sure to hit the artists section of DHS so she can draw with an imagineer. Also, check to see if there is still the dining with an imagineer. I'm not artistic at all and it still seems fun to me!!

I think you mean draw with an animator XD

dinning with an Imagineer is a great thing! I loved it last time I went!

There's an animation thing at Hollywood Studios:

I think she would really like this. We did this last December and enjoyed it very much. It opens at 11:00, and I would suggest you get there at least 20-30 minutes early and get inside the roped off area. There is limited seating and it lasts 25 minutes. We got there at 10:45 and it was starting to fill up. We got in, but some people were turned away to wait for the next class.

Brush up on your Disney trivia and you may win the imagineer's autographed sketch.

We always do the draw with animator class at DHS. Of course, I must watched the preshow EVERY single trip. "Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing." LMBO. One of my favorite shows of all!!

The Wild By Design Tour at AK. It takes you through the park discussing and showing you the detailing that went into the Park.

My kids and I sat through the animation thing at Hollywood Studios last year, but I din't see the draw with an animator section. Does it cost anything?

My son thought it was cool meeting an animator from "Up" there. He said my son looked exactly like Russell, all he needed was the outfit.

Glad that it's in Hollywood Studios, as the four of us will be doing Star Wars weekend. Might be good for my mother in law and neice to do while we're geeking out.

Free. Right past the character meet and greet. You get to keep your drawings. last trip we drew Piglet. :)
If you get to the gift shop, turn around and go back inside and turn right. It is over in a corner. :)

have fun!!

Yes, it's free and it's a lot of fun! You get to sit at drawing tables and it's fun to see how a character comes to life. My kids really enjoyed it.

We drew Stitch. :)
