OK let me hear your best first night suggestions...

We will arrive around 2 in the afternoon, after checking in and showering we should be ready to go around 5:00. What is the thing you like to do best the first night (we are AP holders).

Please some new and exciting suggestions if possible. I know many love Chef Mickeys the first night and I agree it's a blast but...we want something NEW:)

Thanks!

Emme,
We usually head straight for 'Ohana's, at the Poly. This is a tradition for us. My DS just loves the Coconut races and the hula hooping competition. By the way, the food is out of this world. If you like steak, turkey, pork and shrimp, do your self a favor and try it out!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

If you're sports fans, the ESPN Club is a lot of fun. We ate there on the first day of our most recent trip, and then explored the Boardwalk.

We do Fantasmic the first night when we have APs. We have been rained out so many times for Fantasmic we watch it while we can. It's such a trek to the stadium that often my dd is tired by the end of the day so it's a great beginning for us!

I'd opt for any of the closing shows: Spectro, Illuminations, Fantasmic - if you are like us and tend to get there early, chances are some nights you are too tired to stick around for the finishing act.

Combine one of these events with a dinner and you have a great evening!

We're doing Prime Time our first night. I don't think we'll be able to do Fantasmic -- we have to get up around 5 to make our flight, but we want to actually set foot in a park that day. I'm making an early dinner reservation, I'm hoping to meet a few characters and see MuppetVision and maybe the Indy show (for my dh). This is our first trip using UPHs and I want to make the most of them!

We always have a car and eat at Jungel Jims at the Crossroad Center. It is a first night tradition for us. If the kids are tired from the treck it doesn't require too much from them and we get to set up our plans for the next day as well. We have AP's as well, but have always enjoyed this tradition.

We're going to Cirque du Soleil (6pm show) our first night (arriving midday). We'll probably have a light supper at our resort's food court really early and then a snack after the show :goodvibes

hhmmm...tough one.

I agree w/ TIGGERSMOM2, we LOVE the food and view O'hana, but a FANTASMIC DINNER/PKG sounds good too (thats what we did for our first ntg)...its a toss up.

And if you want "fun" like crazy and rowdy...you may want to try WHISPERING CANYON at WL for a LOUD and WILD time. But my vote is leaning more towards the FANTASMIC DINNER/PKG. B/c we LOVED the show, it was amazing!

We have usually done the Chef Mickey's thing for our first night, but the last trip with just my husband and I we headed over to the Wilderness Lodge and had dinner at Whispering Canyon! It was a wonderful start to our trip! We enjoyed the fun at the restaurant, and after dinner, we wandered around the Wilderness Lodge and then watched the Electrical Water show from the WL beach. That night was one of my fav nights this past trip, and makes me want to book the Wilderness Lodge for our next vacation!!! :)

This might sound boring but we usually go to Downtown Disney and walk around. It gets into the Disney mood and gives us different food selections. We go into the shops and have ice cream. It is nice and relaxing so we are ready for MK the next day.

We're in the Chef Mickey's or Whispering Canyon habit...however, when we arrive this Sunday we are eating at Liberty Tree Tavern for the character dinner and hang around for Wishes.

Two suggestions:

Concourse Steakhouse - convenient if staying at CR and depending on the time you can go upstairs and watch the fireworks or take a ride on the resort monorail

Konas - anonther good monorail stop and you can watch the fireworks down on the beach or the electrical water pageant.

Last year, we dressed in our tackiest aloha shirts and headed for the Polynesian for dinner at 'Ohana. We explored the resort a little and then took a ride on the monorail. It was a great first night.
