If time only permits one viewing of Philharmagic I would suggest grabbing an extra set of "opera glasses". Once last week, 3 out of 4 3D glasses we had were scratched which significantly affected the quality of the presentation. Fortunately it was the 5th time we had seen the show so it wasn't that much of a disappointment. But it would be a shame if it was your only chance to see the show.

When DH and I were there about a month ago the glasses weren't scratched, but they were water spotted. I'm not sure I would have noticed, but the second time we saw the show DH picked up several glasses before choosing his set.

"What are you doing, people behind us want to get in", I asked.

"I'm trying to find a clean pair. Lots of them have spots from the water during the show."

And you know what, he was right. I looked closely through the pair I'd picked up and they were spotted. When I had clean glasses the show was better

For any 3D type of show, I always use a clean kleenex/handiwipe/whatever to clean the "lens". Much like with regular sunglasses. I guess I've been lucky that I haven't found any of the scratched ones.

i have not been to see philharmagic yet (will be there in a few days) but i cannot imagine that the spots on the glasses were from guests wearing them in earlier shows...in all of the other 3d shows you drop your glasses into a large barrel on the way out of the theater...i always assumed that disney just carted them off for cleaning of some sort...i truely hope that they just don't turn them around and have someone else put them on their face after someone else has worn them...maybe it is just my germ thing (yuck)...anyone know for sure???

I have no knowledge of the matter, but SURELY Disney cleans the glasses before passing them on to other guests. Not many of us want to wear stuff that's been on other people's faces. Hopefully someone with some insight in the matter will come along soon.

We saw 3 of the 3-d movies when we were there recently, (muppets, honey/shrunk, philharmagic) and each time I had to clean my glasses. I think the first one was actually scratched a bit, (not sure) and the other two seemed to have water spots that I believe were from being washed and air dryed---not from the water in Philharmagic or Honey/shrunk. Next time I will definitely check out a pair or two before choosing one, and will try to use something to wipe the pair I use before the movie starts. (I was worried about wiping the ones I had, since that might scratch them.) Grabbing two sounds like a good idea, just in case. Maybe just one extra per group would suffice...?

The bad glasses we had were all scratched in the same place - just right of center on the left lense. The affected area was about the size of a penny.
