Suggested wardrobe for the dinners

We are going on the 4-day, which I hear does not have a "formal" dinner. I have also heard that people dress up more at Triton's because it has more of a formal feel.

I would welcome suggestions on what the family should wear to each themed dinner on the 4-day, including the Pirate Night.

It really depends on your family, your comfort level, and how your family likes to dress. Since you asked what others did:

I have two DD's 2 & 4 and the love to wear dresses. So I had sundresses for them for Parrot Cay and Animator's Palate.

For Tritons, they had a dressier dress, but not formal, more like a "church" dress. Yes, some dress up for Tritons, but some don't.

DH wore casual khaki pants to PC and AP with a golf shirt, but to Tritons, he wore a long sleeve shirt and dressier khakis.

I wore capri pants and casual shirt to PC and AP, and a skirt to Tritons.

We dressed up for Palo, a dress for me and a shirt/tie/coat for DH.

We weren't the dressiest or the most casual in any situation. At Tritons, some dress just as casual as they do at PC and AP. IMO, Tritons is dressier, so it feels like you should be dressed better. But no one felt uncomfortable.

For the 3 night cruise......is there at least 1 formal night?

We plan to dress up on 1 night... but with many kids...I wasn't sure if the 2 other nights were formal or not.

Should we just have kids wear jeans on the non-formal nights?

There are no formal nights at all on the Wonder. DCL has recently implemented as casual dress code for all dinners, so no need to take dress up clothes at all. Palo does not even require a jacket anymore, just a dress shirt and pants for men, and nice outfit for ladies. You are even allowed jeans in the dining rooms. So, go and enjoy..it sure makes packing easier.

Even on the three day you will have dinner at Triton's one night. The atmosphere at Triton's is certainly appropriate to dress up if you choose. We do dress up and use that night as an opportunity to get a formal family portrait done. Check the sitting fees for a family portrait and you will find that packing a jacket for the gentlemen and dresses for the ladies in your family is certainly worth it. The price of the photo is then $20, a real steal.

So there is no dress code anymore?

Does that mean that my 9 year old son could wear dress shorts, sandals and a nice short sleeved shirt to dinner, instead of hog tying him to get him into pants, shirt and proper shoes in the heat I am sure we are going to endure on our August cruise??

Just returned from the 4 day Wonder last week. The night they had the "Golden Mickeys" was listed as "Dress-Up Night". It was listed at the top of the navigator in the left hand corner. Two other nights were listed as Cruise Casual and the night of the pirate party was listed as Tropical or Pirate Attire. It seemed like a lot of people didn't pay attention to the the navigators and did as they wanted. Triton's used to be the night you would dress up more, but not necessarily so now.

Thanks......I'm glad I don't have to bring along my monkey suit. Do you think that dressing in a dress shirt and beige khaki's is sufficient?

I don't want to be formal....but also don't mind dressing up a little so that we can take pictures.

Disney has the new relaxed dress code for dining. If Palo no longer requires a jacket, I definately wouldn't pack one for triton!
