We've got a popup and will be bringing an extra awning. I'm looking for a site that will be well shaded because we'll be there in early August. We'll have bikes to get around and we have a potty in the camper so I don't have to be *quite* so close to the CS.

Any suggestions as to what site I should request when I get there? I'm sure I'll need a first, second and third option.

Thanks guys!

They usually start asigning site about 5 days out so if you find what you want you might want to Fax them of your requests.

You will have better luck requesting the loop you want than a specific site.

when you get there you can look at the available sites and request that site, you may or may not get that one.

I know that I might not get any of my requests, but it helps to know what you want before you get there. I have a reservation for a partial hookup loop, so it's either 1500 or 2000. Just want to know from experience which sites have worked for others.

I think you're trying to fine tune this a little more than is possible. Loop requests ahead of time are fine, but specific site requests might not work since sites are supposed to be assigned based on what you are camping with ... type size, vehicle etc. and not what you would like to have.

Yeah, hadn't thought about that. I understood that the partial loops were only popups and tents, but they both have different needs as well.

So I guess we'll just see what happens when we get there!

Hey Anne.... you'll be at FtW!!! It's all good!!

A lot of the "shade" trees in 1500 have been removed with all the clearing. Seriously, you might want to invest in a cheap window unit A/C for your trip. On one of our pop-up's, DH cut a hole in the pop-up on the tongue side of the trailer & mounted a A/C unit there. This was long before they started installing roof air on pop-up's. It worked great! We spent the extra $$ on a reverse cycle so we had heat in the winter, too. If you do this, make sure you purchase a heavy duty extension cord that can handle the extra amperage (I think that's the term).
