I have been enjoying a glass (or six) of Le Snoot (CabSav) this evening. I like it (probably because it has pigs dressed in formal attire on the label, and I love pigs), but what is your favorite wine/winery? I'm partial to cabernet or syrah/shiraz, but will consider any suggestion! :thumbsup2

Personally, I like to just go around to small wineries and have a tasting. I'm totally hooked on blueberry wine right now! So I'm always searching for a good one that's not too sweet, but not dry.

Ooohh, blueberry wine sounds good! The fruit-infused wines always seem to pack a punch!

I totally agree on the not too sweet, yet not too dry.

Yellowtail Shiraz $7

Jordan Cabernet $30

Stags Leap Chardonnay $30

Mad Dog $4.27/qt

I like the stuff in the GLASS bottles!!! the clear and the red is pretty good!

stay away from the cardboard boxes.

MD 20/20 not so much

Boons farm is okay if you have a RUM backer!

Trader Joes two buck chuck is not bad either!!

Woop Woop Shiraz - Yummy!!!!

I actually drank it first at Artist Point .....

I did a wine tasting at a winery in destin florida a few weeks ago and came back with a case of their wine...I do not even like wine lol It was called emerald coast winery and I got some bottles of sunset red and beach party. They had a website. The beach party is my fav it is kinda peachy/orange sweet flavor and it is served cold...YUMMY

I prefer Zinfandel, it is a heavier more full bodied wine than merlot or cab. It also has a higher alcohol content, so watch out! I used to buy Seghesio by the case, but I like Rancho Zabaco which can cost under $10/bottle. This is a red Zin, not the pink Kool Aid stuff.:scared:

I like Bogle winery. Also do you have a Trader Joes by you they have some great wines at great prices one Melot I liked was Purple Moon.

Zinfandel is an excellent choice!!!! I think it's similar to Syrah in that it can have a spicy/peppery zing to it. And we drink a fair amount of Seghesio in our house too. I'll have to try the Rancho Zabaco because SEghesio has really raised their prices lately. We used to belong to their wine club and still have several bottles stashed away in the basement. On our last few trips to wine country, we've started the day in the Seghesio tasting room, and then ask for suggestions to other wineries we might like. We've been sent to several great wineries, and in fact switched wine clubs to one of their rivals. Mainly because we can get everything Seghesio makes here in Iowa, and we went with a winery that doesn't distribute here.

Our latest $10 find is Erik the Red from Toad Hollow. The bottle didn't say what the grape mix was, but it was tasty, and matched great with a cheese/bread/fruit supper.

Oh cripes, I didnt realie the name was not regulation for DIS. Sorry.

The wine is pretty decent though. Gives us a giggle.;)
