I would be very interested in any information that could be given regarding Sugar Loaf Concierge at GF. Is it worth it?

We were upgraded last Nov for the Sugar Loaf. If you plan on spending lots of time at the resort and don't eat at the parks often then it may be worth it if you have a family of four or more. Other than that the food was so so. It was nice going down in the morning for coffee. I myself would never spend that kind of money. When we go, we love trying as many places to eat as possible its part of the fun. I ask the concierge when we were there if they had any special way to get us into a restaurant with out PS and they said they have the same screen as every one else, nothing special there. Any other questions just ask. Tina :earsboy:

SugarLoaf is considered "light" concierge, you might see it referred to Lodge concierge also. When you secure your reservation, you get access to a pre-planning department. They are able to assist you with all your priority seating arrangements, recreation, entertainment, park shopping, private dining, etc. These are all things that you can do on your own, but basically, with one e-mail, you could have your entire vacation planned out instead of hours or days on the telephone with different departments.

When you arrive at the GF, you'll be met outside by a staff greeter who'll escort you to SugarLoaf for your private check-in. The building is secure and you will need your room key to enter. The set up inside is quaint. It sort of reminds me of a bed & breakfast. The lounge, food offerings and staff are all located on the ground floor lobby. There are some tables, chairs and sofas spread around. Food offerings are the same as the main building with a few exceptions that do make it "light" concierge. In the morning, you'll have a deluxe continental breakfast with yogurt, fruit, cold cereal, oatmeal packets, bagels, toast, danish and croissants. Times do vary, but typically you'll see this serving out from 7am-10:30am. Then from 11-1pm it will be a lunch with assorted hummus, light salad, sliced stuffed chicken breast. From 2pm-4pm they serve afternoon tea with warm scones, cookies, brownies and trifle. 5pm-7pm is the evening serving with cheese & crackers, vegetables, usually 2 hot appetizer dishes like spring rolls and honey mustard chicken skewars. For the kids, there are mini hot dogs & cupcakes. Because it's light concierge, wine and beer are not served and there is no late night dessert offering from 8 to 10pm with cordials. That's reserved for full concierge in the main building. Throughout the day, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, lemonade, iced tea and soda are available in the lounge. There are glasses or to-go cups for your convenience. Concierge staff is on duty from 7am-10pm every day to assist you with any last minute needs. I guess my experience with that was different than the previous poster. The staff has been able to get us last minute ps's and even got us Cindy's for breakfast after we had checked in.

It's sort of a strange policy, but they don't charge you extra for a particular view and there are a few room choices. The views available are of the marina or the garden. With a marina view, you won't see the castle directly from your balcony, but there is a chance that you would still see the fireworks by sitting out there and looking to your right. The room choice is a standard room which will fit up to 5 (over the age of 3), the dormer rooms which are on the top floor (fits up to 4, over the age of 3) and the tower room which also fits up to 4 (over the age of 3). Normally, you would pay more for a tower room, but at SugarLoaf you can simply request it. Unfortunately, the tower rooms are all garden views, but you get extra space, a living room area and 2nd television.

I don't know your situation, so I can't suggest that it would or wouldn't be worth it to your family. You should just weigh out the benefits and decide what's best for your vacation.
