We just got back today from our first DSL cruise and I feel kind of lost...lol. As usual, the Disney experience was created by the awesome cast members (employee's). How do they get the best people like that? Awesome service! How do you guys deal with the hunger pangs of Disney cruising??

I know how you feel. We cruised DCL for the first time this past Easter week (only our 2nd time cruising at all). I absolutely loved it. I wish I could go twice a year. I am lucky if I can go once a year from now on.

It is so good.......:thumbsup2:cool1::love::cloud9::lovestruc

Here's what I'm doing...

A) start planning next year's cruise - :cool1:
B) watched all videos and looked at all the pictures we took :thumbsup2
c) been on disboards more than usual. :surfweb:

On our first cruise we went with friends of ours and on the last day our friend gets a wild hair and starts wondering about hiding out on Castaway Cay.......maybe that is your solution next time.

My daughter gets very depressed on the last night, it's usually when we leave Castaway Cay (on our next cruise we're at sea for a day before pulling into port), and she is usually up watching as we pull into dock. I get depressed when I go to the "Remember the Magic" show because they show pictures and little videos that they did (my daughter was in one of them) so that gets me all teary eyed. Just remembering it now is getting me teary and it's been a year and a half since we've been last. This next one her boyfriend gets to put up with her and her depression, he got a small taste of it when they went to Disneyland this past April and they had to come home.

The only cure for PCD (post-cruise depression) is to start planning your next cruise.

Love that. We are going in April again. The only problem with me is that I can only afford to book them about every 2 years, though I'm going to have to book for 2012 on the Fantasy.

My family is in the same boat (no pun intended, LOL) :rotfl: But, I know how fast these two years have gone (for our upcoming one in November) and since we are hopefully re-booking for the Fantasy in 2012, I know there will be lots and lots of fun research and planning ahead!! :love:

Wait until you start feeling the sea in a few days. :laughing: It took me a week to stop rocking (got my land legs back) and it didn't start until about 2 days after the cruise. Understand what you mean, I use the DIS boards to help me get over it all. Also writing a trip report or even just a report about your favorite Excursions.

I just changed the message on my business phone to the regular message. Listening to the "we will be closed until Aug 9th" line killed me. Talk about reality hitting you hard.:sad2:

sadly...I can only *sort of* start planning my next.
Hi...my name is Kelley and it's been 18 months since I cruised. I'm an addict.
Sorry-couldn't resist. Anyway...it's been 18 months and we're not going again for another 2 years...YIKES! But, we had to leave that much time b/c it's my daughter's graduation cruise and we wanted to be able to really *do it up* b/c the last couple of cruises we've been on have really been shoestring budget. As our daughter plans on attending the Naval Academy this will likely be the last big thing we will do for her.
As they haven't released the 2012 dates or iteneraries yet, we just have to drool and speculate.:sad1:

I can totally understand what you are feeling. Disney just makes things so wonderfully special that when you are back home, it feels lonely. Just take a moment to realize how blessed you were that you got to go on a cruise, which I'm sure you already feel that way. Then print off your pictures and start scrapbooking. Here's to hoping you get to cruise again soon:wizard:

We just finished our 6th one in May in the Med and I am already planning the next one! It was so sad to leave, but now we have the next one to look forward to in Nov '11 on the Magic. I am coping by doing my scrapbooks and checking on this site every day. I love to hear about everybody else returning from their trip, helps me to get through. Can't wait until next year...........................................................

Totally feeling your pain. The first day back I pout in my pjs all day unless I have to work that night - then I pout at work too (lol).

Then the second day I START planning again - there's nothing like that Disney Magic as hokey as it sounds its true!!!!! The only way to get through is by knowing I'll be back - I am a Disney Addict!!!!:lmao:

I loved your "Hi, my name is Kelley and it's been 18 motnhs since I've cruised." Hysterical!!!! I know what you mean about having to leave a lot of time in between to "do it up" since when my daughter turned 18 we did a week at WDW and then a week on the cruise (where she turned 18 the day after we boarded). This trip cost me a fortune but it was well worth it. Even though we go on the cruise again in April, I can't wait for the Fantasy to come out (heard it's supposed to come out in April 2012 when she'll turn 21) and book that one also (even though she wants to go to Vegas).

So our first cruise was Dec 2007 and I cried my eyes out when we left the boat:sad1: what made it even harder was the fact that it was during the second week of Dec so all the decorations are up and it happens to be my favorite time of the year so the tears just flowed :rotfl:

We did cruise Dec 2008 but could not afford to go Dec 2010

The biggest thing for me to keep from getting the totally and completely bummed out is having one booked on the ship even if it's 2years out. We are actually going for broke and doing 2 cruises in 2011 one on the Dream and one on the Wonder in Alaska!

It's amazing how many pennies you can save when you don't eat out as much and make a grocery list. My husband never thought he would see the day when I walked out of Target only spending $50! But when you want to get on Mickeys boat you do what you got to do!

There are days where I close my eyes and just picture myself on CC at Serenity Bay looking at the beautiful water with my toes dug in the cool part of the sand! I especially do this when I am at the tanning bed getting my
base:rotfl::rotfl:

I feel the same way when I leave WDW, so I usually have another trip in the planning stages.
