WHAT HAVE I DONE???? :confused3

I just decided to go ahead and book a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party for my DS's 4th birthday next month. He wants to invite his pre-school class (9 kids) in addition to his other friends and I just didn't want them all in my house. Of course this option may be worse!!! :rolleyes1

I booked the earliest time I could (10:00 AM) on a Saturday morning so I kind of hope we are done by the time the real crowds hit. Any suggestions for ways to make this party a success with minimal brain damage?

you ARE crazy! :teeth: No real advice, get lots of parents to stay and help would be my suggestion.

We are having dd's 6th birthday at one of those 'jumpy' places. It's a warehouse filled with those inflatable jumpy things that's set up for parties. 25 kids, I've invited about 10 adults I *know* will show up too.

How to make it better.....hmmm. Do they sell alcohol there?

Sorry, I am not going to be able to give you any positive vibes here, but I do wish you major luck! I thought you had a hope if it was on a weekday, but on a Sat? (Shudder.....)

As I said, good luck. And you could do a trial run and see what you might be up against by stopping by on a Sat prior to the party.

I do get what you mean about not having them in your house though. It does get to be a bit much.

I feel your pain!!!

We endured this for DS's 6th birthday last month. Fortunately we were able to do it during the week (it was Spring Break) so it wasn't very crowded.

My only advice is to have a bottle of wiine chilled and waiting for you when you get home.

Good luck!

I spent many a year at Chuck E. Cheese parties, and not just for my own kids but for friends and relatives too. There is no hope of making it easier for you, except to include a few other parents to help round them up for various events. I will say it is better and saner to have it there then at home.

Good luck! Take pictures! Just know that as endless as these years seem to be right now, they will pass and all too quickly you will find yourself looking fondly back upon your Chuck E. Cheese days.

At our chuck e cheese they sell beer :rotfl2:

And to the OP :worship: You are the best mom in the whole world!!! My DD never got her Chuck E Cheese Birthday!!!!

DD is asking for an Enchanted Castle party for her birthday in July. that is a lot easier to handle than Chuck E cheeses :rotfl2:

plus the kids I will be dealing with are a lot older. I really can feel your pain.

I am limiting the amount of kids this year too. took me a long time to learn my lesson but I finally did. only 6 kids this year counting her 7. :thumbsup2

I have always said.. At Chuck E. Cheese when the kids get the tokens.. parents should get VALIUM! nuf said.. LOL

Have a good time. Happy Birthday big fella!

You've rented the place, now rent some help....:)

It'll be great! It's soooooo easy to have party there. They take care of EVERYTHING. Just know what kind of pizza and how much before you get there. And get extra tokens. They always need extra tokens. We did our party at 10am too and it was great. It was pretty much empty until around lunchtime when bigger kids started rolling in. You'll have fun! Well at least the kids will. And you won't have to worry about your house getting trashed!!! :thumbsup2

Your ds needs an aunt like me! LOL. I love to go to my nieces and nephews birthday parties. I always make sure I help the mom with all the work involved and I also take lots of pictures and video. Lots of adult help really does seem to take the burden off mom and dad.

Does anyone have the song "chuck E Cheese hell" by tim Wilson? The OP may want to listen to it before the birthday party.

I'm :rotfl2::rotfl2: because I remember those birthday parties, and I feel your pain! Now it is funny to me because I have a chart for my DGD and once she fills it, she can pick where she wants to go. You guessed it.....but this time I am not invited. Just her Pa and Pluto. Nana can't go. Mom and Dad not invited. :lmao::lmao::lmao:My DH is still trying to convince her that she should ask us to join them...........

I don't think it is temporary. Who typed this post for you?

ITA :) :)

I was just at a CEC party for my son at 10am on a Saturday and I agree, it was pretty quiet and quite nice actually. The crowds didn't start showing up until near the end of the party. :thumbsup2

Now, if you'd said Friday or Saturday night -- that would make you

DS got a CEC party last year b/c I didn't have time (or energy) to get the house fixed enough for company. It was nice just to be able to go there and have everything waiting. The kids had a blast and that's what matters!!

I think DH and I came home afterwards and took a nap, though!

I think CEC parties are a breeze. :thumbsup2 from the kids!! Easy set up and clean up!!! Everything is included! I take advil for the headache but other than that someone is waiting on your needs hand and foot. The kids can safety go play without constant supervision (the older ones). The time you booked is perfect!!!!!!!

I think you will be fine, especially at that time. Just make sure there are plenty of other adults there to help keep track of the kids, and help them play the games.

We live an 1 1/2 hours from the nearest Chuckie Cheese's, and the kids have gone once before for a birthday party. I took them myself a couple of weeks ago, and consider myself Mom of the Year for doing so. They really had a great time. They sell beer at ours, too, but I didn't realize it until it was time to leave.

There were several birthday parties going on when I was there, and it looked like the kids were having a great time.

Good luck.
