I belong to another message board dedicated to the soldiers of the 101st Airborne. This board was set up to support the soldiers and their families while they were deployed to Iraq. One of the members of the board has suffered the ultimate sorrow this week. Her husband passed away in Mosul. His was a non combat death. I'm not totally sure what the cause of death was because I haven't been able to find much information on the net about it yet. His wife, Rosie, posted a short message telling the other members what had happened but she has (understandably) been absent from the boards ever since. One very brief article I found mentioned a possible heart attack as the cause of death. Sgt. Leonard Simmons was only 33 years old. I met his wife and children at a support rally a couple weeks ago. The oldest boy looked to be only about 10 years old or so and he was talking about trying to be the 'man of the family' while his dad was gone. It's just so sad. I would appreciate it if you guys would keep Rosie and her children in your prayers.
He's my age.
