Successful Drink Swap QS locations?

we are heading down at the end of the month with free dining. Due to a medical condition I can't drink when I eat so reading about people swapping drinks on QS meals for other items really peaked my interest. I know I can always get a bottled water and save it for later but would love to hear where you have been able to swap out your QS drink and what you have gotten instead. Thanks!

We were able to swap out drinks for desserts or sides everywhere we went except for BOG lunch.

We swapped our beverage for soup at BOG lunch. They said they couldn't, but I showed them the pdf of the dining plan on my phone and they called the kitchen and took care of everything. I think they had to ring up the soup as a bottle of water. I had read other reports on DIS, so I knew they had allowed it in the past. We did the same at most of the qs restaurants because we primarily drink water.

The only place that gave me a hard time was the QS place in China at Epcot. They were kind of nasty about it, but then allowed it (he rang up egg rolls as a Coke but then we got the egg rolls).

We preordered at BOG and ordered one sandwich and two soups, and it rang up as one CS meal credit.

We just did 12 days on the QS plan so we ate at a lot of locations. The only place we were successful in swapping anything was at D-luxe Burger, Flame Tree BBQ, Bizzard Beach and our resort. It was rather frustrating to say the least. I felt like the employees were out of the loop on this new change, but it was always too dang hectic to argue so I just let it go.

It seems so silly, since the substitutions have been allowed for a long time!

When we were at Sunshine Seasons, I got a seared tuna and noodle salad, bowl of chicken corn chowder (instead of drink), and some fruit salad cup for dessert. The cashier asked me to get a fountain drink or bottle of Dasani. I said I had three things, but no she said get a drink! I think maybe the soup and entree came as a set? I had my DD run over and get a bottle of Dasani! We did drink it, but had cases of it in the room that we paid $4 a case of 24 for from Amazon Prime Now! Sadly, neither of us could come close to finishing our food that meal! We shared most but wanted different entrees.
