Just a quick report on my first FP+ picking experience yesterday at 7am in hopes that someone else can benefit. We are doing part of all 7 days in the parks from 12/17-12/23. Our family is 6 people--my kids are older, teens and 20's. Everything went very smoothly and I got almost all I wanted when I wanted it. I started with FEA which I wanted on 12/23 (60+6) and I got 11:20am. Out of curiosity, when I checked back this am, FEA still has the following availability: 12/17 at 6:20, 12/18 at 6:45, 12/19 at 6:05, 12/20 at 6:00, 12/21 at 3:25, 12/22 at 1:30, and 12/23 at 11:50. So I think the strategy of putting it later in your week is definitely best if you want an earlier time.
My second FP was for 7DMT on 12/18 (60+1). I wanted 11am, but the earliest time was 1:20 so I took it and adjusted on the fly. Looking at the rest of that week, the FP availability for 7DMT is still there but is in the afternoon until you get to 12/22 at 10:20 and 12/23 at 9:05.
I got TSMM on 12/19 (60+2) at 1:10. I think this may have been one of the earliest times available but I wanted afternoon, so I didn't really pay much attention if there was anything in the am. Otherwise, availability was excellent for everything else I wanted all week. The last FP time for Everest was 5pm with a park closure of 7pm, which was kind of a bummer, but I'll keep checking back. And I highly recommend hitting the "refresh" button when searching for times or going back and hitting "modify" once you have booked because there were always different times which popped up when doing this. And also, don't forget to write down your FP times so you can keep track as you go along. I got so excited that I forgot to do this for my first couple and I had to stop and go back to see which times I got.

We weren't able to get FEA until 6:25 but that was fine with me. We could have done 5:30 too I think but we have early dinner reservations so I took the later time.
