Substitution at CRT lunch - apps???

I have looked daily and I am pretty sure we will have to do the lunch at CRT.....just can't find dinner! My (1st world) problem is that I didn't realize they have different menus for lunch and dinner. MY favorite food part of the whole experience is the tasting plate of cheeses.

Has anyone tried to substitute something at CRT? Were you able to do the sub for what it was you wanted? Anyone specifically tried to change out the app that goes with dinner to Lunch app?

What is in the lunch app? The menu is vague.

At lunch the only appetizer is a "Chef's Tasting Plate." If you go to yelp there are several recent photos and all show the same thing - a green salad, hummus, crackers and a small amount of cheese.

The cheese sampler at dinner is very different and the ingredients for dinner dishes will not be available in the kitchen until after lunch service is finished and the lunch foods put away.

If this reservation is for your trip in January you have time to continue checking online for a dinner reservation. Cancellations will come up because it is a fully prepaid meal, but people often wait until closer to their trip to finalize their plans. While a cancellation can happen at any time, some deadlines when you might see an uptick in cancellations are 60 days in advance (FP+for onsite) and 30 days in advance (FP+ for offsite and final payment date for 2016 packages) You can also subscribe to the January cancellation thread on the Dining Reservations sub-forum:

1) No can do.
2) It is not made-up until the dinner changeover.
3) If you want that cheese plate, you need to do dinner.

Just thought I'd post an update on this question since I asked on here. I have checked every single day, sometimes several times a day, for a CRT dinner, but there aren't any available for the 3 days we will be at MK. So, I emailed the email for Disney that is for dining and just asked....figured what could it hurt....and I got an email back saying they checked with CRT and they absolutely will honor that request, just need to ask for the chef when I get there.

It is the little things like this that make Disney so special, IMO! Something small and insignificant, probably, to a lot of people, but it made my day! LOL

that would be nice if you could count on it happening when you get there...info from Disney is so inconsistent. print out the email and take it with you.

Printing the email won't really help as it's not coming directly from CRT. It's what one person at dining is saying was said. If it's not available, then it won't be available, email or no.

2) Now, have you, or anyone else, ever gotten misinformation from Guest Service or Reservations?
3) I certainly hope they are correct.

It was the email for guests with "special diets," and they first emailed me and said they are checking with CRT, then emailed back and said.....I will just post a screenshot of the email. My trip won't be ruined if they don't honor the request, but it will be nice if it happens. We have had special requests in the past (never anything outrageous) and those have been honored many times. I'm sorry so many of you have had such bad luck getting any requests honored! I will update after my trip and let you know!

Enjoyed a wonderful cheese plate at CRT for lunch! We don't ever ask for special treatment or anything different from the norm, but I really wanted that cheese plate and didn't think it hurt to ask. So glad I did!!![GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
