It really depends on what you want as a keepsake of your wedding day. We were one of the first short edits (approx. 20 mins) that Stan did (that I know of - July '05) It was not offered as one of his packages then. But we knew we wanted more of a "movie" look to our video instead of a play by play of everything. Our video has virtually zero talking with the exception of our vows - the rest is filled with major highlights of the day and selelcted music to accompany it.
IT IS SPECTACULAR!! We showed it at an at home reception and people just raved about it and they still talk about it when they see me.
The raw footage, even though I love having it is very choppy and actually makes me a bit dizzy to watch. I can only watch it for short clips at a time.
It is fun to listen to what others are saying but remember it is Stan's rough draft so several shots are repeated, the camera may move suddenly from one shot to the next... Ours is not like having a straight, uncut version of the day. But again, I do like having it all.
Again, it depends on your desires, finances, etc. I just know that we loved working with Stan and Bonnie and were extemely please with the end product.
No matter what you choose you won't go wrong!
