I made a stupid comment that came across as posh and upper class, passing it off as pride when real pride comes from hard graft and work. So I'm deleting this initial post in case I offend someone.

Nope grew up poor had to work through high school tried to go to community college grades were not great due to having to work full time to afford anything. I dropped out and thankfully met someone who was decent off.

Am I proud of my formal education? No. I had to work around the structure of the formal education system to get the education I needed.

I am definitely proud of having earned my degree. It took 4 years of hard work and dedication. I went to my local state university, held a part time job and received what I consider to be a well-rounded education that gave me practical, marketable skills. I think that's something to be proud of.

I totally agree.

I should make myself more clear - when someone is given an opportunity and rises to it, making the most out of it, there that is something to be proud of.
