I have only seen Wishes for the first time the past weekend and it was beyond doubt, incredible, amazing.. absolutely everything!! It was so beautiful even my mom said she almost cried. I was wondering, the part where Tinkerbell appears to fly off from the castle and..into.. i don't know where.. is that actually a person? :o

Yuppers. Next time you go sit near the Plaza Counter Service and she'll be up close and personal. You'll be able to see her and all her glory!!!

About two years ago my DS and I were sitting in an eating area across from the castle waiting for the fireworks and E-night. I wondered why there was a cable over our heads going from almost the top of the castle to a roof behind us. As the time came for the fireworks a real, live person (Tinkerbell) came down the cable right over us. I never imagined Tinkerbell was a real person. My DW told me sometime before this visit that she saw Tinkerbell but I thought she meant a picture or a projection of some kind.
As for having that job...........NO THANKS!!!!

We took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour last year, and one of the many interesting items we saw was the end of the cable, where Tinkerbell comes to a landing!

I little trvia about Tinker Bell. A CM told me a couple years ago the position is the highest paying character position. Gets a full shift wage for that brief appearance.....

Didn't Wishes just open in the last year or so

Wishes did start in late 2003, but Tinkerbell was part of the previous (and long-running) fireworks show, Fantasy in the Sky. Her "flight" in that show was so popular, they kept it when they introduced Wishes.

As an aside, I managed to get a really good video of Tinkerbell during Wishes (thank goodness for 20x optical zoom). I was watching it on my camcorder on the flight back home, and an Orlando local sitting next to me was jealous-- he had tried several times to catch her on tape, to no avail, and I got her on the first try. :)

Yes it is a full salaried positon. I know the person who tested the tinkerbell trapeze. She got paid really big bucks to make sure it worked. They offered her the postion but she said no to it and she said it was well paid just for that. She does trapeze on cruise ships and makes big bucks too.

Some more Keys trivia - that's the ONLY place you see a live Tinkerbell. Since she's a fairy and supposed to be tiny, they don't have her appear anywhere else.

If you do settle in the South and bear children, don't think we will accept them as Southerners. After all, if the cat had kittens in the oven, we wouldn't call 'em biscuits.

This is the funniest signature I have ever read! I am still laughing!

Computer messed up and I posted twice - thought I could delete his but can't figure out how!

Read post below - pretend you don't see this one! :earseek: :rolleyes1

Glad you liked it! I thought it was pretty funny too! And it's SOOO TRUE! I've lived in GA since I was 8 - and in this small town that I love dearly for almost 15 years - but although I'm well loved here (the past year with cancer showed me that) I'll never be a "true" southerner!! Luckily my husband is a true southerner so Becca is "grandfathered" in!

I LOVE IT TOO!!! Its so funny bc I keep telling people back home (Iowa) that while my kids were born in AL they are midwestern bc their mom is midwestern. I will admit however that we are midwesterners that say "y'all". I am so used to it after 6 years that "youse guys" sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard! :crazy2:
