Stupid Newbie questions

I am still new and finally got to play around yesterday for the first time after class.

I know there is a fill up the area with colour button but can't remember how to do it? Also, now that I have put my logo on to gradient backgrounds, I can't remember the steps and I had flattened the image. It was about three steps.

What is the best book for a very beginner you would recommend for Photoshop CS2?

I am going to rework my projects from yesterday and try a better way of doing it.

Hi April,

I have PSE so I'm not sure it's the same but to fill an area with color you select the color you want to fill as the foreground color then make sure the layer you want to fill is selected and hit "Alt" and "backspace".

Do you want to buy a book? There are so many tutorials online. You could just google photoshop gradient tutorial and probably get all the help you need.

Maybe others will have recommendations for books - or you could ask on the photography board too. Hope this helps.
