OK - does the laundry room have a change dispenser, or do I need to bring a roll of quarters? I know there are more important things to plan and worry about, but what the heck - at least I get to see my countdown.

:bored:

I don't remember, but I always bring a roll of quarters and laundry tablets and dryer sheets. It is easier to bring my own. THey don't take up much room in the suitcase.

No change machine in laundry room. You would have to go up to guest services for change. I just keep a roll of quarters in my ziploc laundry items bag.

I believe that it's $1 for each. The dryer may not dry your clothes on one cycle if you have a lot of heavier items (jean shorts, etc.)

There was a change machine in the laundry room we used on Deck 7 on the Magic. There are also machines for buying soap and fabric softener as well.

There was also a change machine in the laundry room on Deck 6 on the Magic. I used it several times!

I also used a change machine onboard....maybe they have removed it recently????

Hey Skyhawk!

On our last cruise, we were in #6588 right across from the laundry room! (If anyone is worried, it didn't bother us at all - no excessive noise or heat once in our stateroom, honestly!). Definitely coin changers and soap dispensers. No way was I bringing soap tablets, coin rolls, etc from the UK! We're going to be in the same area on Aug 14th but further aft. Won't be able to load the laundry and sip a glass of wine on the verandah quite so easily this time! But I should worry :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

And by replying to your post, I get to see "our" countdown! See you in 64 days

I was on the magic last month and there were change machines in all the laundry rooms. The cruise before it the machine was out of change though so people who didn't bring quarters had to go elsewhere to break the dollars.

It took me 2 cycles in the dryer to dry a few items of clothing, for my son (2 1/2). So, just to be on the safe side..plan on 2 cycles. I felt bad for the people waiting...but even if I tried to air dry after one cycle...I don't think they would have been dry enough!!!:smooth:

I too can verify the change machines in the laundry room! ::yes::

I always put in enough to do double drying cycles right from the start this way I dont have to come back and add more money.

Check this site: www. castawayclub dot com .... has pictures of the laundry rooms. Hope this helps.

Yes - definitely put in enough money for two cycles if needed. There is no need to come back inbetween cycles on the dryers. I did this and it worked out great. One cycle was not enough.

When we were on the Wonder in May, the change machine on deck 7 ran out of quarters...a call to Guest Services and 10 minutes later, there was an officer filling it again. I was waiting for the iron, but the gals waiting for change were VERY happy with the promptness of service. First time I've ever known them to run out though......

Hi folks - thanks for all the information. By the way, isn't it great that we can devote so much energy and get so excited over how to do the laundry? ::yes::

Hi Kelli
Were you part of the May 19th laundry room party...complete with concierge-supplied refreshments? I can't remember now who all was there... I knew I should have taken a picture!

Musta missed that......I avoid laundry rooms religiously......even at home, Keith is the man!! As I said on another thread, he has this uncanny knack for knowing the precise time to go move laundry.....me, on the other hand, usually can get the 1st load into the dryer and another load in the washer......3 days later, I have to start all over, since the 1st load is perpetually wrinkled and the 2nd load is musty! I'm hopeless......
