Stupid HOA! *warning...ranting ensues*

My only advice to you is to NOT move to Celebration when you retire. I think that place must be paradise for HOA nazis.

I can understand not wanting rainbow colored houses, an army of pink flamingos, or junk cars up on blocks in the neighborhood, but some of these people on HOAs that freak when your grass is ½ an inch too high, or you planted the wrong kind of flowers (if they allow flowers at all) are a bunch of control freaks.

My next door neighbor mows every two weeks and it really makes my DH mad-I wish we had those rules here. There is no way,in the SOUTH you can go over a week without mowing and have a decent looking lawn.

I bet when I go check my mail here in a minute there is a letter from the HOA nazis telling me to weed my flower bed, cuz lately I haven't had the inclination to do so. It's just too danged hot! Even early in the morning it's already in the 80's and I just do not want to go sit in that heat and pull weeds...:sigh: Oh well....

Oh my goodness, I can hardly believe some of these "rules" you people are talking about that you actually have to abide by!!

Makes me all the more thankful we live in the country! We do keep our place "neat and trimmed" looking but it's nice that we wouldn't HAVE to if we didn't WANT to. It annoys me when people own a piece of propery and someone else can tell them what to do with it, geesh!!!

And I'm glad I can have pink flamingos in my yard if I want 'em!

DH and I like to go for "Sunday drives" occasionally and sometimes we'll see houses that look really bad, but that's OUR opinion and WE don't have to LIVE there. It should be a person's CHOICE what they do with their house, if they want it painted pepto-bismol pink so be it, or if they want to let their grass grow, it's THEIR house, NOT mine!!

I'm sorry guys, I know it isn't funny but I'm laughing so hard right now.

I work for a Property Management Company, which means your HOA's, COA's and "Lawn Natzis" are essentially my boss. I offer my sincerest apologies for all the letters that "I" send. I have to write letters like the ones you received on a daily basis and I totally agree that some of them are beyond redicilous but they keep me in a job.

It's not your fault there are lawn nazis, Michelle. After all we are the dummies who signed up for this stupid HOA when we moved in.
Well...in our case, we didn't get a choice. Either you signed up for the HOA or you couldn't buy a house.
