Stupid bus question

I feel so stupid asking this but can't find the answer. Are Dolphin and Swan on the Disney bus transportation route? We stayed at POFQ last time and loved the buses but have seen some great deals lately for Swan and Dolphin. I just hate to give up the transportation convenience.

They are on a loop with the YC, BC/BCV and BWI/BWV.

You will not only have the buses for the parks, but for MGM and Epcot you will have the friendship boats! Enjoy your trip to the Swan. We loved it!

Debbie

I just got back from the Swan. The Disney busses pick up at the Swan, Dolphin and Boardwalk in that order. The Swan was the first stop going out so we always had a seat. While we were there the busses did not stop at Y/B Club.

BTW, no question is ever stupid. We are here to help everyone. :)

There is also a walkway to Epcot and MGM from Swan/Dolphin/Boardwalk area. It is a very nice walk, and not long at all. DH and I stayed at the BWV in February, we always beat the Friendship boats back when we walked.

Are there seats left by the time the buses get to Dolphin?

We'll be staying there in April starting on the 24th and reading this thread, I got concerned.

I hope my daughter whose five will end up with a seat when we take Disney's bus to MK.

Please advise.

Mouseteacher,

I'm rather forgetful these days, but I recall you being quite helpful to me a few weeks back in planning this first trip for my family.

How was your trip to WDW? Have you reported anywhere about it? I hope you had fun.

Actually... there is ONE...

Pulling into a bus load zone with a HUGE bright orange LED sign that says MAGIC KINGDOM... Can't miss it...

"Where are you going?"

*repeatedly bangs head on steering wheel*

honk honk honk

LOL

Back to the original posters question... (which is by far NOT a stupid question)

Although they are not Disney operated resorts, the resorts have contracted with us to provide transportation. Bus services Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom/Blizzard Beach, and Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon. Boats service Epcot and the Studios. Please be sure to read all destination signs to be sure you are boarding the correct bus.

Bus routes may vary, as our system is highly dynamic and very flexible. As long as you follow the signs, you'll be fine. Just remember...

If it doesnt say it... it doesnt go there.

Unfortunetly, seats are never guaranteed, especially during peak times when everyone else has the same idea as you. It's really a hit or miss, however, I'm sure you'll be fine. I wouldn't worry too much. :)

Well now Tyler, I have a story for you. There we are, at POR, in '01, waiting for the next MK bus to roll on in. It's about 7:30 am, a bus with that huge orange Magic Kingdom on it rolls to a stop. We say as we're getting on "Can't wait to get to the castle for Cinderella's breakfast." The driver looks at us and says 'What?' I say "We're going to Cinderella's Castle for the character breakfast." The driver, quite sheepishly, says "Oops." and changes the big orange sign to something else. He was quite nice about it and said the MK bus was right behind him. Which it was. It was really pretty funny. He seemed really embarrassed.

Can't wait to see what stories I have to tell after trying to get from the Polynesian to Wilderness Lodge, Ft. Wilderness, and Yacht Club. It's going to be an adventure for sure. But I'm betting and trusting those purple panted wonders to get us through it all!!!

By the post titlte I was actually excited and thought that WDW finally had a set of busses for the "stupid" guests!;)

So, what's the deal with some people saying there's 3 stops? Swan, then Dolphin, then Boardwalk if there's only one stop? Or, does the routing change, depending on how many people are visiting the parks?

KIS

Kis, I'm not sure what you mean by one v. three stops. Are you talking about what Tyler said that 'there is one'? If that is the case I believe he was saying there is 'one stupid question'. There are stops at all the above mentioned resorts. So, that would make three. I apologize if this is not what you meant.

That is funny Tyler but let me tell you what I've encountered a few times. A bus pulls up and the only thing going across the front is a bunch of orange dots or dashes. When this happened I would poke my head in the bus and ask where they were headed. I always got a snide reply telling me to READ the front and I'll find out. When I point out that the front had NOTHING to read on it the drivers were embarrassed. So not every question about where you going is stupid. :D

To the people wondering about one stop v. three stops v. five, Think of it this way. Each resort has its own stop, but sometimes you share your bus with another resort, sometimes you don't, depending on crowd levels/traffic/amount of people on the bus.

Hope this clears things up!

Yes, I know what you mean. We have about 5 buses with that problem. In that case, or the case of a faded flip-dot sign, I can understand the question, and I have no problems answering with a smile. But it's the times when people ignore the sign at the bus stop, ignore the sign on the bus, and just go bus to bus asking if this is thier bus. Even when I tell them "Stop #15" they just go to the next stop, and ask the same question.

As for the topic of routing...
Our system is very dynamic, and can change at the drop of a hat. Sometimes the bus will go Swan -> Dolphin -> Boardwalk, other times it might take a different path. It all depends on time of day, theme park, and current demand.

Oops! :) Thankfully, that's never happened to me... the closest thing was I forgot to change my sign from the resort name to the theme park I was servicing.

KIS ~ I have posted about our trip on Dreamflight's S/D thread. We had an awesome time - got upgraded to a Jr. Suite! Thanks for asking.

Re: seats at the Dolphin stop. On all our bus stops, people from the Dolphin had no problem getting a seat. People boarding at the BWI had less of a chance getting a seat but the busses were never really that crowded during the times we were on them. Also, I found the busses to be very timely - we never waited more than 10 minutes for busses.

LOL, Tyler, thanks for the post. here's a story: we were on the bus leaving the MK to the Swan and a lady was trying to negotiate with the driver to make a stop at the Y/B Club. The bus stop for the Y/B was the next stop over but she did not want to wait! He was trying to be polite and telling her he couldn't do that - she wouldn't give up - she walked a away and then came back to try again. She did this 2 times and then finally got the point.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see then.

Thanks for clarifying further.
