Stupid ? about AK park hours and restaurants...

OK, I feel stupid for even asking this but here I go...
January park hours are showing that Animal Kingdom closes at 5 pm.
If I want to do dinner at either Yak and Yeti or Tusker House, is 5 pm the latest seating we can secure? This seems like Disney would lose out on $$ by not offering more seatings, and make it extremely difficult to get any dinner ADRs for us??!!

I have 5:00 ress @ Yay & Yeti on 8/26 and the park closes at 5:00. I was told 5:00 is the last seating.

If the park closes at 5:00, then that will be the last seating you can secure.

The reason Animal Kingdom closes that early in January is because of the sunset. The animals have to be back to their homes by dusk-sunset. I believe Disney is looking out more for the welfare of the animals than getting more dining revenue. Plus, you can hop over to any of the other parks that are open later, go to a resort restaurant, or go to Downtown Disney. Plenty of other options for a later dinner.

I don't know the answer to your question, but we cancelled a Y&Y dinner res for 30 min before AK's closing time because we read several reviews where the staff rushed diners near the end of the day. No thanks!

Thank you all for your input. Perhaps I will just try to make a lunch reservation instead! With 3 kids I don't need to dilly dally, but I certainly hate feeling rushed and pushed out the door when I'm laying down more $$ than usual!

I often plan to eat dinner at our own resort on our AK day. We ride Kali right before we leave, and since we get soaked, it's easy to get back to our resort, change and have a nice dinner "at home". On other AK days, we take a resort bus to another resort and have dinner, but you may not want to do that with 3 little ones.

AK has some of the best CSs on property, too, so you can bring the kids to Pizzafari for lunch then enjoy a nice dinner later.
