It has been many years since youngest DS and I camped at FW but I have never forgotten the wonderful stays we had over there. For that reason we try to book at Hoop Dee Doo each trip, in part, so I can visit over there. One of the things I noticed that is missing is the stuffed bear that used to be in Crockett's Tavern. I asked a cm where it was and was told it was sent off to be cleaned and it didn't do so well in the cleaning process. If that is the case, I wish they would replace it. I thought it really added a lot of character to the place!

Tuffcookie,

I miss the Bear too.

Although I go to the Fort almost every year, I don't eat Trails End every year. But two years ago I was there and noticed the Bear was gone and asked the TE manager who was walking around the tables schmoozing the guests. Like you said, he was sent out for cleaning and never came back. He ALSO said that people had snapped off any part of him they could get (fingers, nails, etc.) as a souvenir to take home so he was in desperate need of some rehab - a good portion of him was missing.

I was distraught to hear that out in Disneyland, the Country Bear Jamboree is no more. Should that ever happen at WDW, I hope the 3 talking heads on the wall and even some of the bears can find a (protected) home at Trails End.
