Studios - no res for December?

I am researching a possible 2-day excursion to WDW from Universal hotel for Wed/Thurs Dec 9/10. I want to go to Studios for 1 of the days and probably MK the other. From the Available Parks calendar, there are no days in the entire month of December for Studios. Not forking over $800 in tickets if I can't go. I guess I can't make ride reservations either which I suspect are a must for SW & TS. What am I missing?

As you noted, to get into a park, you must have a park reservation. Without it, you can't get in. You can keep checking as people change all the time and they do become available.
Since there are no FPs, you don't have to worry about that. ADRs would be the only other thing, and you can't make those inside a park without the reservation first.

Thanks for the reply. So most of the month of November and ALL of December has no reservations availability showing for Studios and therefore, it "sold out"? Really? I hoping they simply didn't release them yet.

Kind of scared to take the $800 ticket risk it "might" be open as Studios is the prime reason for our visit. Am I correct that you need a ticket before securing a reservation?

How did you do this? I need DHS in December

Any chance you are willing to do a split stay with a Disney hotel? Disney resort guests have a separate pool of availability for park reservations making it generally easier to secure a park reservation with an on-site stay.

Took your advise, put on Young Sheldon and I was able to get DHS for one of my days. Just so everyone knows it was still showing as not available.
