I really don't like borrowing points would you rather stay in a studio for 9 days btw...we are a family of 4 with 2 older teens, or a one bedroom for 6 days, ugh what to do. :confused3

For me, it would be the 1BR for six days. With that many adult-size people it gives you a little more square footage as well as a full kitchen and W & D. Go for it! :thumbsup2

:) With 2 teens, definitely a 1 br. However I could tack on 2 days at Pop for a less price and still get my 9 day time in. Of, Course Pop would come at the front of the trip...so I could move up to DVC. It would only be 2 days in a small hotel room but those would be the days I would commando the park and not stay in the room much. Best of both worlds

Hello

It's my guess that if you ask your children this question they would go for the nine days in a studio. We also have two teenagers and last year we stayed in a studio at BLT for 9 days. It was a little cramped but we managed just fine. We all knew that our studio would be small prior to check in so it wasn’t an issue.

Good Luck

We recently stayed 3 nights in a studio at Vero and 5 nights in a studio at WLVs. We were only three - my dh and I and my 17 yr. old dd.

It's fine for a few nights but more than that, I would rather go for a 1 BDR. Privacy, space and washer/dryer.

The studio fridges are large enough to stock with "teen" foods, and they would probably enjoy the extra vacation time. The main problem with studios is making time for laundry.

If you, your spouse, and the teens have no problem with the smaller accommodations, I say go for the studio.

I would almost always opt for a longer vacation. Especially at a place like Disney where I spend little to no time in the room anyway.

How do your teens feel about sharing a double sofabed? Are they the same sex? You could try to bring a blowup bed for one.

I think the first thing to consider is how your two teens get along. Are they constantly at each other's throat at home or are they best buddies? If they argue every day at home then there is a 100% chance that the war will escalate over time in the same room. If they enjoy each other's company and are relatively easy going then I would say shoot for the 9 day vacation.

The only studio I'd even venture to stay in for multiple nights would be OKW. If you weren't planning OKW, then you need a one bedroom at the minimum.

For us, a studio is only survivable for 2 nights ... anything longer requires the 1BR (or larger depending on group size) for the laundry, kitchen and s-p-a-c-e.

In your case, I'd not even think about the studio but would be looking at either a 1BR or 2BR unit.

I agree with those who've said that if your family opts for a longer stay vs. a roomier one, I'd go for the studio, too, especially if the majority of your time will be spent out of your room! The more days = the more fun. :thumbsup2
My one caveat: the only studio I would not recommend is one in BLT............they seem quite a bit more cramped, and until they change the sink(s) arrangement and put locks on the bathroom door, getting ready in the mornings and bedtimes can be a challenge. :lmao:

By the time DD's were 11 and 13 we stopped the single studio or traditional hotel single room stay for the 4 of us. That was partly why we purchased DVC at that time, in order to have the room that would be more comfortable for us to enjoy our vacations. I would vote for the 1 bedroom, shorter stay..even if it had to be a shorter stay..

We too own DVC because we don't like the traditional rooms. I would choose a 1 BR over a studio any day. If 4 of my family were in a studio, the other guests would have a great show from all of the fireworks going off in our room!

We have pretty strong feelings about room size:
1-2 ppl in a studio
3-4 in a 1 bdrm
4+ means a 2 bdrm or GV:)

I agree that a 1 bedroom would be better with 4 people. However, if you go for the studio, I would choose OKW for the 2 beds and the extra room. Enjoy your trip.

Previous poster ToddyLu suggest 2 nights at Pop, at the start of the vacation and then moving. Along those same lines could you so split day with a few nights in a studio and then moving to a one bedroom and still use the same points? I don't think we could do 9 nights in any studio or regular hotel room for that matter. Just too small for our family, which is basically 4 adults size wise. A studio is fine for a shorter stay, but not a long one. Every family is different though and only you know what will work for you guys and what won't. Good luck. :goodvibes

I second this plan!

Thanks everyone for all your responses
We decided to make it a shorter trip in a one bedroom. At least we would have the washer dryer, livingroom area, nice whirl pool tub. Now for the sleeping, we will bring an air matteress because we are now booked for okw which might have he sofa chair but we cant count on it because my dd and ds need their separate. Space :rotfl2:

WAY TOO FUNNY! :rotfl:Ditto for us :dance3:! We joined DVC for S-P-A-C-E! and NOT traditional rooms!
