We usually stay in the studios and I was thinking about going for the 1bdrm for our trip in Oct. Is there that much more room? What do you think? Is it worth it?

Yes, there is alot more room. Once you experience a one bedroom you will never want to go back to a studio. :goodvibes

Yes there is that much more room. The washer/dryer is great and there is that large white box that keeps beer cold. There is another box that people tell me can cook food (never tried it) and another box that washes dishes (do rocks glasses count?). The bathroom and whirlpool tub are better than a studio, and the king sized bed is great.

You will love it. My DW is now pressing for more 1BR stays and less studio stays even if it is just the two of us. According to her, life is too short to mess around with studios. Of course our next trip is in a studio but that is because we are traveling with family, and there is something to be said for separate alone time!

When trying to add one more trip, a studio can really help. But a one bedroom gets me away from that hotel room feeling which I find hard to beat.:thumbsup2 :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

oh crap. it sounds like what happens with flying once you sit in 1st class - coach looks horrible. maybe i shouldnt do it. i liked coach b4 i sat up front, and now i cant stand it. i like the little studios compared to the hotel rooms at WDW Resorts.

A 1 BR is like an apartment, where a studio is like a large hotel room. The two aren't even comparable. Some prefer one to the other, but once you stay in a 1 BR you'll be hooked.

Not worth it for my family. We're able to go to WDW twice as often by using studio points vs. 1 BR.

If it makes you feel any better, our first trip home was to a 1 BR and we have only stayed in studios since then. One the other hand, my DH refuses to sit in coach and all of our flights are now in FC. -- Suzanne

Count us among those who will never go back to a studio now that we've done a 1BR and now it's just the 2 of us! We stayed in studios when we had 2 teens with the idea of not using as many points. Well, we only go once a year anyway, so I don't know what we thought we were saving points for. :confused3 Eventually we figured that we could get a 1BR for the time of year we travel and be fine w/ points.

FWIW...I love everything about a 1BR, the separate living space, the huge tub, the "real" refrigerator (not that thing you cook on so much though), and yes, even having the washer/dryer in my room (throw it in b4 heading out in the morning and 5 minutes in the PM before bed to fold it up). :lovestruc

We also will never go back to a studio ;) . In fact, we booked a 2-bedroom villa for our next trip so my daughter could take a friend and have their space, DH and I can have our own room, and the living/kitchen area will be shared/social - and available if another family member decides they can come:) . We can only go to WDW once a year so we splurge with our points when we do go! DH needs his "space" and downtime, and the 1-BR and 2-BR villas provide it. I can't wait - we are now under 90 days until our next trip and just made our ADRs.

Whatever you do, don't make a 1BR at OKW your FIRST 1BR...you will definately never want to go back to a studio! ;)
We love having the amenities of the larger units, as well as the space. That is why we bought into DVC. We have a hard time when we stay in hotel room now because we are so spoiled by our DVC accomodations.
Its worth trying a 1BR at least once, even if only for part of you stay.
