Would any of you generous DVC friends have advice regarding whether I should book a studio or 1-bedroom villa at BCV this June for 3 teens (16,17, and 18 years old) plus one adult? I've just about settled on the 1-bedroom, but I read on posts that the villa is roomy enough. I like the idea of having two distinct rooms in which the teens can chill out alone, if they want to. You know how teens can be! :rolleyes1 If you've had experience with this set up, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you. :flower3:

Haven't had the experience but maybe I've just been lucky. Personally, I'd go with a one-bedroom at OKW for the adult and a studio somewhere else for the teenagers!

My sentiments exactly.

Or get a two bedroom and put the teens in the second bedroom.

I think you'll be crowded in the 1 bedroom and no way would I get a Studio.

Are all the teens girls or boys?

I would go with a 2 bedroom if I had the choice or if you must do a 1 bedroom then OKW has HUGE 1 bedrooms with tons of space.

I'd go with the one bedroom at a minimum.

I would definitely choose a 1 BR if for no other reason than the larger bathroom with 3 teens. I don't know whether you are bringing boys or girls, but it is really nice to have the extra counter space (I have a DD16 so it is a total life saver!)

Enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

I would stretch if at all possible and get a 2 bedroom. I have traveled with teens. You need more bathrooms and space for all their "stuff".

I'd choose a 1-bd at AKV, because then you get the additional sleeper chair. And lots of counter space in the kitchen and bathroom. And a large balcony to escape each other.

Plus if at Kidani get two bathrooms!

I'm not so sure I'd spend the extra points. Some things that would affect my decision.

Are they boys or girls?
Are they related?
Will they be going off on their own?
How much time do ou think that they will be spending in the room?

Kids that age are most likely going to use the room to shower and crash. They aren't going to be hanging out in it. If that's the case why not just get a studio and save the points?

Don't forget that there's only one TV in the studio. Who knows what the kids will want to watch! Probably not all the neat Disney "propoganda" like the top 7 attractions, channel 19, the stuff I always watch.

I think you should stay in as big a place as you can afford!!! You're a brave brave DISer!!! :-)

OP - let us know what you ultimately decide. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that trip! :-)

Well, you guys are not only generous with your opinions, you've got nicely-honed senses of humor!!!!! :rotfl: This will be a graduation gift for my daughter. I've been on the disboards for 3 months. This is just an amazing forum of Disney fanatics! I love it! As soon as I have the funds, I'm going to book a villa, plane fare, etc, etc. :surfweb: I decided I couldn't just take my grad without taking my younger daughter along for the fun, and then I threw in the favorite cousin for more fun. I think these girls will talk about this trip forever. And, I'll be forever the coolest mom in the world!!! :cool1: It'll be a fun girls week at WDW. princess: My DD who'se graduating LOVES everything Disney. After months of research, I think I've decided on a Downtown Disney resort for the first two nights (Fri and Sat), then a move to a WDW villa for Sun-Thursday. That seems to save me several hundred dollars on the lodging. And, the first two nights we can do the Downtown Disney scene, which seems very cool too. My DH just hates the thought of walking around a theme park:sad2: , so I thanked him for saving me the money and told him to have a fun week at home without us girls. We'll miss him ... Anyway, thanks to all of you for your replies. You're the best! :thumbsup2 And, I love that you give your honest opinions, no hedging around on these boards! Take care! Happy Holidays Everybody!:grouphug:

Are any of the four of you willing to share a double sofa bed?

In the BCV studios, there will be one queen bed and one double sleep sofa. The 1 bedroom will have a king bed in the bedroom and a queen sleep sofa in the living room.

IMHO, the number of bathrooms is secondary to the sleeping arrangments. :)

Have fun!

Although at Kidani the 1 beds will have a sleeper chair and sofa bed in the lounge area, plus a king in the master, there are also 2 bathrooms which would be handy as you have 3 girl teens in the party.

It sounds like we'd "survive" in a Studio, but the 1-bedroom has the luxurious bathtub, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, two separate sleeping rooms, two TVs (critical):happytv: . I keep going back to the thought of lodging at BCV because of its location and pools and restaurants. Honestly, I'm all about "conveniences." :cloud9: OKW sounds great, except I'm concerned about bus noise that I read about, since buses have to come and go regularly. And, the convenience of Epcot/Hollywood Studios area sounds too good to be true. I'll pay a premium for BCV, I know, but there's just no cost-effective way to do WDW. Since tickets are the major chunk (approx. $1,000:scared1: ) for the 4 theme parks, then the 4 theme parks are where we need to spend most of our time, I suppose. Downtown Disney will be cool, but not THE reason we're going to WDW. I think I can catch Cirque in my metroplex area, too, so I may save that money and not go to Cirque, even though it sounds too good for words. Again, thanks everyone!!! I'm sure I'll be back with more puzzling questions for you!!!:surfweb:

I would think everyone would be happier over at AKL in kidani. For a 1 bedroom you get the 2 bathrooms, and then you have the king bed, pull out sofa, and the pull out chair.

How long does everyone take in the bathroom. 3 teen girls, +adult sounds like half the day could be spent getting ready in 1 bathroom, although it depends on how long they take?

Just sounds like everyone will sleep better at AKL. The better everyone sleeps the happier everyone will be. The 2 stuck on a pull-out at bcv may not sleep that well, lack of space, bumping, etc.
All depends on how good of sleepers everyone is. If they are light sleepers it would be rough, the 2 on the pull-out.

have a great trip

Just curious - are you a DVC member or planning to book through Disney? If you are not a member you may want to check out the rent/trade board as it could save you quite a bit over getting a room through Disney.

Thank you, again, my friends. I'm humbled by your willingness to help. :worship: I am not a DVC member; however, I plan to rent points from a DVC member when I have funds available. The AKV is one that I have not considered. I'm not sure why. But, now that I hear from you, I can actually imagine the girls enjoying the animals, especially my camera-buff niece. She has fancy camera equipment and loves to photograph everything. And, who doesn't love animals? I'll have to check out Kidani. I didn't realize the 1-bedrooms will have 2 bathrooms. Where are the best online photos of this new resort and its rooms? Do you have a link to share with me? :confused3 Thanks!!!!
