Studio logistics with a young toddler and an infant

There is plenty of room in the front hall for a PnP. Just a thought but my DS was in a bed by the time he was 18 months. He was climbing - or should I say diving head first out of the crib (he walked at 9 months). But if your toddler would sleep on the sofa - not pulled out, and the PnP could go right in close to the bed if that made you more comfortable.

And there is plenty of room in the closet for luggage.

Generally the cribs I've seen lately are around the same size as the pnp and maybe even a little smaller, usually those white folding ones. But they are still better, IMO and much easier to deal with both on set up and folding. Based on my grandson's use of this type, I'd say most kids 3 and over wouldn't be able to use them.

We have stayed in the BLT studios multiple times with our young little guys as well as 2 strollers. We put the pnp up in the alcove area and moved the strollers over by the sliding door. While it made the room a bit more crowded, we never felt overly squished (even during an 11 night trip). I will say our little guys LOVED being able to watch the monorail go by :) I would definitely stay at BLT over folding the strollers at WL - you only have to fold the strollers to AK, HS, and DTD from BLT - woohoo!

I'd rather fold a stroller a few times and stay in a 1BR elsewhere than fit that group into a studio, but that's just me.

I think there's plenty of room in the entranceway. That's where we always put our pack and plays.

Since it's a toddler and an infant I wouldn't open the sleeper up at all. I'd have the toddler sleep on the couch (pad cushions with a blanket), push the Pack-n-play directly up against the couch to keep the toddler from rolling off, and the infant sleeps in the pack-n-plan.

Frankly, I'd worry too much about the toddler slipping off the side of the opened couch - the framework isn't all that friendly.

So we are weird... When my oldest DD was almost 3, she would still sleep in a PNP. So we had both in a PNP (that was at the All-Star). This past trip in a studio at Saratoga Springs, we took a 3/4 length camping mattress (perfect size for DD almost 4) and used the PNP. We turned the couch so that the PNP was behind the couch and the couch facing the bed to give DD1 a little more quiet in the room. DD4 went on the floor on the camping mattress in the closet so she had her own 'room'.

That's not weird!! For a while, our oldest insisted on "camping" in the bathtub at hotels!!! LOL! Crazy kid! :rotfl2:

If you'd only have posted earlier...the "dis experts" here would have, I'm sure, given you pointers on 'family planning' as it effects vacation planning!!!!

;)

Clearly, I must have missed the family planning and it's effects on vacation planning discussion!! ;) Even with big families, it still works out just fine!!

We were waitlisted for WLV but then we remembered that on the smaller boat we'll need to fold the stroller as well. It might be a bit rough with 2 small babies and 2 strollers (albeit small ones).
Who knew how much vacation logistics would change when you have more than 1 kid :lmao: ?

Try it with four, soon to be five!! We've had to be very, very creative! :3dglasses My grandma says we should just stack 'em like cord wood!

This made me :lmao: ! We're having our third girl in December and that REALLY changes things!

I think my DH once did that when he was younger and staying with his parents and bro and sis. It's quieter in there!

Hehe... thanks everyone...
The funny thing is my family used to travel all the time too. And the kids (= me, DSis and DBro) would sleep on the floor all the time. We don't think twice about it.

But the thought of making my kids sleep on the floor during our vacation now creeps me the heck out of me.

Oh rillsung, I know what you mean.
I vetoed having #3, one of the reason is vacationing would be just a pain... logistically.
