Studio - laundry?

Couple of questions surrounding doing laundry when staying a studio (we usually stay 1BR).

1) Have I read that the front desk will give you coins for the community machine (free)?

2) Do they give you detergent (fabric softener) too, or do you have to buy that?

We might need to do a little laundry before our cruise.

The DVC laundry machines don't require coins, just push the coin handle in and out.

Soap isn't supplied but you can buy it in the resort stores.

GCV does require tokens to do the laundry if that is where you are headed. It's either the front desk or concierge that will provide them for you.

Also, they sell detergent and things in the laundry room in a coin-operated machine. Single use packets of detergent, fabric softener sheets.

Check out the Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets. They're easy to throw in your luggage, and work as the detergent/softener in the washer and anti-static in the dryer.

I don't use them at home, but it's the only thing we use at Disney.

Unless you want to use a rolling suitcase to take your laundry to the laundry room, I'd also suggest getting a mesh laundry bag. I've got one of those giant safety pin things, and we use it to hang our laundry bag from the shelf in the closet. When I see it's starting to get full, it's easy to grab and tote the laundry to/from the laundry room.

the DVC laundry mats are not on the maps.

OKW and SSR near the pools

VWL, BLT, BWV - 1st floor.
VWL is near the elevators - just go down the hall next to the elevators - it is not too far down this hall.
blt - it is near the north elevators (before you get to them) on the left side walking from the front doors(lobby)
bwv is near the elevators - coming from the pool area - it is on the right side pass the elevators - it is a bit further down this hall than the other 2 - but it will be on your left side.

AKV - at the Jambo house is on the 5th floor - near the standard view villa.

akv - kidani - it is on the first floor

BCV - 4th floor.

Bring your Key (ID) - you will probably need it - Disney has started to lock these doors so only guests staying in the DVC part can get in
