This looks like something my DD (10) might like, but I have a few questions:
1. I saw on the disneyland website that it starts at $19 for just hair and make up, and goes up to $81 if you want to include the wardrobe. Is there a more specific price list that we could see ahead of time to help us decide if we want to do this?
2. What experience have others had with this?

My DD did this and loved it. You can just get the style and nothing else, which is what we did. It's like BBB - the more you get the $$ it becomes, but even without all of the extras she had a wonderful time!

I don't have the price list anymore - it was a couple of years ago. Sorry!

Both my girls just did this last week on our trip, they loved the rock star treatment. Not sure what the individual costs of things are but I saw the bill afterwards and it was quite a bit more than $20. I guess my wife let the girls go crazy with options. LOL

Anyone else tried this? I have a 12 year-old who's nuts for the Disney Channel. Sounds like fun, but I'm not sure it would be worth it. Looks like a lot of it is a special hairstyle, which I think would get ruined the first time she rides a roller coaster ... or Splash.

I did this in January!! It was about $44 with Delux AP discount for both my kids. My son has somewhat long hair that took forever to spike. Son got light up drumsticks and daughter got some hairpieces with their makeovers. They both got rockstar make up, too. I think we were there for almost an hour. They had a blast and so much cheaper than BBB, I think the hairstyles are better than the BBB too

We did this with 4 girls- 11, 8, 7 and 5. All of them LOVED their looks. We didn't get any wardrobe additions, but I think all the hairstyles were in the $29.99 range.

They were able to have it all done at the same time, with 4 different stylists who all were quite talkative with the girls. They had a wonderful time and enjoyed the hair.

They rode Space Mountain after and BTMRR as well, and the hair stayed in place! They really do tight braids and twists, plus a lot of product to keep it in place. The glitter did come mostly out the next morning after sleeping on it- so be prepared for a glitter bed if they sleep without washing their hair.

We did BBB when my DD was 5 and she loved that as well- but with the older girls coming on this trip, we went the tween route. I'd recommend it for a 10 year old for sure.

I've got pics

The face paint was from earlier in the day but Diva still got to take her make up home.

My 11 year old daughter has expressed interest in this as well. U book it in advance I assume?

My 9 year old went to Studio Disney 365 back in Dec. I can't remember how much it was, but she did the least expensive "Rock Star" Make-over. She had a blast and said it was the highlight of our whole trip. She got her hair done in a "bow" style and she had her make-up done. She also got to take home a little make-up kit and 2 pink fake hair pieces. All in all it was a pretty good deal and so much fun.

We did this in July for DD6. Decided on this vs. BBB because it seemed like a better value. ($29.99 for hair-do, hair pieces, make-up palate, face gems) I was very pleased, and DD LOVED it! We did the hairstyle with the "twisties" that you can see in the blog post by Yellow Mickey Ponchos, but the girl next to us was having the one with french braids done, and that was super cute too. I think we'll do that next time. Also, next time I will book ahead. We tried to walk in, and didn't end up getting in until the second to last day of our trip. Considering the hairstyle lasted FIVE days, I think we'll do it the first day next time. Then I get a vacation from doing her hair while I'm on vacation! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone with a Disney Channel age kiddo. :)

DD6 had her hair done in Nov 2011; it was right about $20. Her hair is super long (to her waist) so she could have the cheapest 'do ("Take a Bow").

It was so much fun! Pretty much all she's talked about since :). Her hair was done on a Sunday & I know it lasted until Tues, can't remember if it was still in on Weds, and know it was down by Thurs (Thanksgiving).

My girls did it last month. I included it on my blog here with pics: http://thefairygodblogger.blogspot.com/2012/08/day-1-chicago-to-la-to-anaheim-to.html

I'm pretty sure the wardrobe just includes picking out an outfit from the store. We bought an outfit separately (shirt and skirt) and it was $50.

HTH!

How long does it take to get a hairdo? My DD5 loves pretending to be a rockstar, but she's not super-patient (she's autistic and finds waiting very hard).

Also, how long would her har have to be for the "Take a Bow"? Right now, it's shoulder length--maybe a little longer by the time we go in late Nov.. I don't think she'd do well having all the twists put in her hair.

I am thinking about doing this for my Daughter's 5th birthday this year. Any recent experiences or pictures????

We did it last Nov for my girls (aged 7 & 8 at the time). They both loved it. The women who did the makeovers were wonderful and so much fun. And the hairstyles stayed for 2 days before my girls finally took them down (they would have stayed up longer). And the price is affordable. I can PM you some pictures.

That would be great. Which package did you get? I think my daughter will love the color hair clips. Did your daughter use them after?

One did "Take a Bow" and the other did "Color Cue". Yes they have used them after. I'll send you the pictures in a little bit.

My girls 9 and 13 did it this summer. I think they both I'd that's a wrap. It was the one with 5 French braids, two hair pieces and lots of glitter. They get to keep the make up and comb used. The ladies were very friendly and did a great job dealing with some tangles.

At the start the girls filled out a questionnaire. There was no pressure at all to buy clothes. I did allow dd9 to get the colored hair which costs $3 more. In addition since the package did not include face gems the girls shared a package. My total was $92.xx. At the end there was lots of applause and cheering as the girls had their reveal. Then we went to the front of the store where they were introduced as stars using info from their questionnaires. I was told the hair could stay in for 5 days though the girls wanted them out sooner.
