Hello all! Can anyone tell me which room numbers might have a bigger covered balcony? We love to sit on the balcony when it rains. We will be there this week and I'm sure we will probably have those late afternoon thunderstorms! Also, a room that may have a decent view of the fireworks as well. Any input would be appreciated!
Thanks
Tina

The biggest covered balconies would be over Big River Grille. Excluding the top floor rooms 5013/5015 which are the dreaded box/wall rooms with no roof at all.

higher floors have better fireworks views (EPCOT & MK); studios (2nd floor) under the GVs have larger balconies but also have a solid half wall front (other studios have the slatted front)

There are some great dedicated studios that face the basketball game. They are xx29 and xx31. xx31s have a bit better of a view because they clear the grand villa pillars better. But they are open except for coverage from above.

I can't remember is it is 2029/2031 or 3029/2031 that has the extra large balcony. A lot of the second floors there have those solid balconies. I hate them. :goodvibes EDIT: I see Laurie already gave this information. She knows her boardwalk views. She is the reason I know those rooms. She looked at a picture in one of my trip reports and told me my room number. :rotfl2: I had no clue.

The 29s and 31s have excellent room placement if you're a late sleeper, meaning not too much hall noise, as they do not have a room across from them. They actually have a small hallway window looking out to the pool.

Thanks everybody! Assigned 2047. HA . Just a little disappointed. We prefer a tub as well as a non-HA configuration. I know, I know.....someone has to get these rooms. Nothing else was available. I forgot to "request" no HA when I spoke with MS. This is probably a one and done boardwalk view for us. We will have a great time though because WE ARE AT DISNEY!!!!!

For future reference the studios that have no overhead protection from the rain are those in the last section where the DVC Preview Center is shown in the link provided above (a/k/a the Crest O' The Wave section), the two studios on the fifth floor over the Big River Grill, and the the dedicated studios in Thimbles and Threads section. The others have a roof protecting them either directly above the room or via a roof on floors above the room.
