Studio at deluxe villa or 2 rooms at moderate?

Hi everyone,

I am booking a trip for myself, DD, and my parents for Christmas 2013. I stayed previously in POR and loved it. However, with 3 adults/1 child, one room will be way too small. I would love to stay at a deluxe (never have before), especially since it is DD birthday, but I think a 1 bedroom is out of my price range. Would it be too much of a squeeze to stay in a studio? Or should we book two rooms at POR?

If you could get a GUARANTEE that you would get a studio that had two beds AND a sleeper sofa I would do that but chances of that happening are slim to none. A regular studio is really small. We stayed at POFQ in 2011 for Christmas and it was one of the best stays we have had. The resort is beautifully decorated and the cast members are great. The resort has lots of things for the kids to do and, since the resort is small, everything is centrally located. Two connecting rooms would be perfect. The other alternative would be a room at either CR or Poly. Both have really large rooms that would give you enough space. I just don't like the Christmas decorations at those resorts. Good luck.

I just re-read your post and realized you were talking about POR not FQ. Sorry. But the rest of my post holds. Unless you want to get the bigger rooms at CR or Poly (which may be cheaper than two rooms at POR or POFQ) I would go with connecting rooms at a moderate.

I think a studio would be too small. One set of adults would have to sleep in a sofa bed. A regular room at the Beach club is a lot nicer than the BCV studio. And I think they are smaller than a regular room.

I would go with two separate rooms at POR. It will be a lot nicer for everyone, especially considering privacy issues. Save the deluxe for when you go on a trip with just your family.

I agree a studio I think will be WAY to small. If you go on www.allears.net or David's vacation club they both have pictures and layouts of the studios in all of the villa resorts. I think your best bet is POR is the bayou the rooms have 2queen beds and a trundle or a deluxe resort that you can possibly get a daybed like BC, Poly or YC there are others. I know that AKL & WL do not have daybed. You would have to put it as a request they are not guaranteed. Good luck with your choice

I think you should get a studio at a Deluxe Villa. I recommend OKW.
The studio has two queen beds which is great and holds up to 4. (They are the only villa that has 2 queens in their studio) OKW is also on the cheaper end on Dluxe Villas. Try pricing out a 1br for OKW and see if thats in your price range. That fits up to 5.

OKW has a great pool w/ a slide and good restaurants. The theming is very calm and peaceful. They also have a boat that goes to DTD which is great!

Staying at a deluxe is amazing. I think that will easier for you and your family because you are all in one place other then in 2 sep rooms.
