Stuck on the Skyliner tonight

So we were going over CBR tonight, when the skyliner dead-stopped for about 15-20 minutes. Not a big deal, but I guess like every other ride, the Skyliner occasionally stops. It was only our route between Riviera and CBR, the other SL's were operating. We could see Spaceship Earth from our vantage point (during the Epcot night show, so ther was that). I'm just glad there was not much breeze tonight :scared1:

I am so sorry that happened to you. We stayed a Pop a while back and getting stuck was my fear every time we had to ride it. Every time it slowed down to a crawl as it routinely does, I got that scared feeling. We never did get stuck, and it worked out for us. Last August we stayed at YC. One afternoon the Skyliner was stopped for quite a while. I looked up at the poor folks stuck in the hot cars as we exited through IG. I felt so sorry for them. They were making the best of it and waving to anyone that would wave back. Being stuck up there and not knowing for how long would make me crazy.

This is exactly why I only ride the skyliner at night because I don’t want to get stuck up there in the heat of the day.

This is why we don't stay at the Skyliner resorts. My son (adult) is slightly afraid of heights and claustrophobic. If he got stuck for longer than 5 min. it would not be pretty. We rarely use the monorail for the same reason. Thankfully, you have options for the monorail, boats to the resorts or if you are at MK and want to go to Epcot, you can bus to YC or BW and walk to IG.

Same for us, Loves to dive: We won't stay at skyliner resorts either. I am afraid of heights so that ruled that out! I'd rather take the bus or boat anytime.

Did you get any communication while stuck?

We went on several times during our stay, before heading over, my question always was, any need for the bathroom????

No, we never heard what caused the delay. We were waiting for some announcement but it never came :sad2:

This happened at night, so at least that popcorn::

We were riding with a couple, and the wife was very uncomfortable through the whole thing. At least it wasn't windy :scared1:

We were resort-hopping today, and used the skyliner numerous times to get around. It didn't get stuck, but some poor woman was strapped to a gurney, hooked up to oxygen on one of the skyliner platforms :confused3

I don't particularly like the Skyliner, even though it's convenient. We stayed at Riviera and of course had to take it several times. I was nervous every. single. time. Thank goodness we only stopped for a couple of minutes a few times. I much prefer the buses and monorail because at least I don't feel anxious while riding.

Wait - maybe I’m just getting old and forgetting things but don’t they have AC in them?

Nope! No air conditioning. They do have vents that only work best if the cars are moving.
So if you get stuck mid day on a hot sunny day it would not be good.

but air conditioning would most likely only work when moving. would be worse with no vents and a sunny day
