DH, DS16, DS14 and our wonderful 66 yo family friend went to IoA on Friday 2/19 while I and another friend went shopping. We were meeting at Margaritaville at 6:00 for dinner when DH texted me that they were stuck in the tube of the Hulk!! Workers finally climbed up to unlatch the harness and they climbed down. The 66yo woman couldn't get her foot out because they were laying backward and it took 3 people to help her out of it! This was their 4th ride of the day. She now says it was the highlight of her trip!!

Since they were inside the tube, they said it wasn't really scary except for the angle they were at. DH and the boys thought it was totally awesome. They were given FOTL pass for that day (park closed at 7:00) but they couldn't use them since we were having dinner (they gave them away).

Has this happened to anyone else? Was anyone else there this past Friday?

Wow, we were there friday too. As we were leaving we noticed that the hulk was not working. No, this has not happened but that day we went on dueling dragons and the coaster stopped just as we were leaving the inside area. I thought that we would somehow have to get off but it eventually worked. I think we were only stopped for about 2 minutes. Can you imagine having been stopped at the very tippy top of the hulk?

i'm sure its happened to almost every ride..whether its b/c of technical problem or an employee having to stop the ride due to guest safety..

i'm guessing they were only stuck on the ride for less than 30 min. b/c i know if i was stuck on something for 30 min, 1 hr., or longer...i wouldn't be saying its the highlight of my trip.

It happens from time to time on all of the rides from IOA to USF to Disney to Sea World.Everything is so computerized and sensorized that the slightest disagreement between sensors or computers will shut the ride down for a safety check. Most of the time, its quickly reset but every so often a sensor or a computer needs replacement and that takes time, so they will evac the ride where it is and then do what they need to do.At least they werent upside down, and had to be taken off by OFDs high angle team.

We got stuck on the Mummy on Wednesday. It was kinda neat to see the inside with the lights on. They did have to come around and let everyone out. I'm sure it annoyed some people but I found it quite interesting.

Any one how long they would leave a ride stopped before they send some one in to take people off the ride? I am sure they even a few minutes seems like forever when you are stopped at a weird angle.

The Mummy is one of my favorite rides, I would think that was pretty cool too

I would still be sitting in the ride.....waiting until it got fixed...death grip and all...no way I am getting and walking down....LMAO

I would love to see the ride with the lights on...

Back in October it stopped. We were sitting in the dark before the launch for 5minutes.I started whistling the theme to Jeopardy..

I'm glad we got stopped there. Can you imagine in the fire room!!:scared1:

If the ride is expected to be down more than 15 minutes, they usually evacuate the riders. But that often depends on the temperature or weather conditions. If it's very hot, they may try to get you out sooner. Sometimes, you might be on a ride for up to 30 minutes although that is rare. They have to wait until the techs get there and evaluate the situation and the techs then give an estimate of the down time.

I am one of the biggest coaster chickens going and if that happen to me I think they would have to bring the crowbars to pry me out :rotfl2::rotfl2:

been stuck in the fire room. would of been cool to evac, but we were there only 10 minutes. The special effect did it's usual thing, everything reset waiting for the next train. We just sat there in the dark.

It had to be at the very least warm in there for 10min..

We got stuck twice on Jurrasic Park during our last trip. The first ride,we we stuck on the steep incline(not comfortable at all) and then the next time we rode it, we were stuck 5 ft away from the exit (pier) and could not get off.

Dueling Dragons was still open as of last Friday (2/19) but my guys were disappointed that you don't go through the castle. It seems that the entrance was through the exit (I wasn't there, but that's how they explained it). They loved seeing the new HP though and can't wait until it opens!

ooo good hope it is open when we are there in May. :thumbsup2

Me and my DW got stuck on big thunder mountain railroad. They came to get us and had to take us under the ride. They told us no pictures and we were not to talk about anything we saw under there. I will say no more for fear of retribution from Disney.:worship:
