I am stuck in Mousecellaneous and can't seem to generate interest in other forums. What other forums are suggested and why? Why do you like certain forums and what other ares of DIS are good.
Mousecellaneous is also my first stop on the Dis. I always thought I'd have more interest in the theme park forum, but it seems too all over the place -- too many varied topics with topics scrolling away into oblivion too quickly.
My second favorite forum is the news and rumors forum. I like rumors, even if it is mainly wild speculation about what we can expect at Disney next.
I hang out on the Trip Report boards quite a bit. I think reading about other DISers trips and how they plan them is a lot of fun. Plus, I always pick up tips and bits of news and information when reading.
I read all of the DVC threads, but admit that I spend more time on mousecellaneuos.
I also enjoy camping, resorts, restaurants, and theme parks. The community board, weddings, ABD and rumors and news can be interesting as well.
The campers at Ft. Wilderness have a similar camaraderie (sp?) to the DVCers with a similar love of Disney. They've just found another method to feed their love of Disney.
Be forewarned -- the Orlando hotels and attractions thread (or whatever its called) seems like the anti-DVC thread.
I don't think I branched beyond DVC - Mousecellaneous, Planning, and Operations - for over a year. I guess I felt safe in this "community." Recently I tried Restaurants which has a sort of community as well, then Resorts, then Theme Parks. DVC remains my most comfortable home, however.
I always start with the DVC related boards then gravitate to the Budget Board - great board with current codes for shopping/airlines, any number of things posted as soon as they happen. Also enjoy the Restaurant Board and will occasionally visit the Disney Tips board.
I like the DVC boards to keep up to date on what's going on with DVC. I like the trip reports board b/c they are fun to read. I go to transportation when I have a trip in the works, for airfare and rental car info, same with restaurants for ADR advice. I like the budget board for good ideas and tips on getting a good deal on things.
I'm with the others as this is where i tend to always check the most but i do like the resorts board(sepecially the pics board), Restuarants ( usually for cake chatter thread), and theme park attractions. I enjoy the rumor but forget about it alot of the times. I don't do the TR board cause i'd be stuck there forever and never get anything done. Will have to try the budget board though now.
For obvious reasons, I'm over on Transportation a lot. But, when I head to other boards, it's usually the DVC boards, Theme Parks, Resorts and Dining for me.
The DVC boards are my first stop, followed by a major individual thread within For Families - the Dis Dad's Club (we have lots of fun there). That's my main stomping ground after DVC, with occasional visits to the Theme Park, Disneyland and then Resorts after that, with a number of individual TR's that I like to follow.
I'm with you. I can't seem to find another forum that I'm that interested in. I usually don't even go any further down. I just realized there was a "Just For Fun" forum!
The Dvc boards are always my first stop like several others. I spend a lot of time on the Trip Report boards. It kind of gives me that fix in between trips. I also scan through the Theme Park, Resort, & Restaurant boards.
This too is where I find myself getting stuck but I do go to the budget boards at least once a day to find any new discount codes and if it is close to a trip I go to Resturants, Theme Parks and Resorts. I like to look at the resort pictures, several times, a few weeks before my trip to really get me psyched!
DVC, Disney Cruise, Budget Board, Transportation, sometimes the Theme Park Strategies and occasionally the Community Board.
I find the DVC and Disney Cruise boards to generally be the nicest in terms of posts, etc. I think the Community Board is definetly not for the faint of heart - sometimes folks, I swear, are out for blood.
