Strollers, Wagons, or what?

I have 2 boys (6 & 4) and we are planning our trip for October. I really don't want to pay an extra $50 per child for a stroller but know that they won't be able to walk the entire time. I know I've read that wagons aren't allowed, and I think I saw that you couldn't ride the train or something at one of the parks with a stroller... anyone have a suggestion? Are there double strollers? What is the price if so? Are there discounts available for stroller rentals? I'm trying to get our budget together so we don't have any unexpected expenses that I could have budgeted for and parking alone is going to be $50!! Any ideas, suggestions, tips ect would be great!

You are correct that wagons are not allowed.

The train that you are thinking about is probably the MK train. It does allow strollers that fold, but doesn't allow non-folding strollers. If you have a WDW park stroller, you just take your things and your name card out the stroller and leave it at the station. If there is one ready to go at the station you get off at, you can claim that one. Otherwise you can go to one of the stroller replacement stops.

Here's a link to the allearsnet page about strollers. That page also includes pictures of the strollers from each park.

You might be surprised at the 4 and 6 year old. We first came to WDW when my oldest DD was 4. She didn't use a stroller at all on that visit or any of our other annual visits (and was not the most athletic, used to walking child). We recently were at WDW with my niece's DD, who was not quite 4 at the time. She did really well walking; on the 3rd or 4th park day, she said her feet were "all out of walk" and asked for a stroller the next day. I think if we had taken it a bit easier the first few days, we could have avoided a stroller altogether with her also.

You might try renting a stroller from an outside source. I found a Sit-N-Stand double stroller from a company in Orlando who will deliver the stroller to the hotel and pick it up when you are finished.

The Sit -N- Stand stroller has a maximum combined weight of 80 pounds (both kids plus whatever else is loaded onto the stroller), so it might not work for the OP, depending on how heavy her children are. It also looks like it might be a bit hard for a 4 yr old (the younger child) to get into unless he's really small.

Thanks so much for the help, the website answered all of my questions. At least I thought - My boys are 6 & 4 and both prefer to walk as much as possible in WM and the mall. I know I will need a double for MK and Epcot, but what about AK and MGM? Do you think, with their ages, we will need them for these days? BTW, we're going in october... and both boys are small for their ages (in weight anyway).
