Strollers on the ship

I could probably search these boards for an answer to this question, but it's easier just to ask it myself...can anyone tell me what the strollers are like on the ship? Do they have very many of them? We are trying to decide if we should take our regular full size stroller, take an umbrella stroller, or just "borrow" one of the Disney strollers for our just-turned-two year old dd. We probably won't need to use it very much...definitely in St. Martin and St. Thomas, and maybe a little bit on the ship, but I think it would be nice to have one with us.

Does anyone have any experience with this???

I took an umbrella stoller with shade. It didn't take up much space & I used it more than I thought I would. I am a worry wart and was afraid of possible Norwalk germs on a borrowed stroller, kids put their mouths on everything. I was allowed to take it right on board with me.

They don't have strollers available on the ship. It's "bring your own" if you want one.

I haven't done a Disney cruise, but I have cruised with my daughter. She was two at the time, and we found that the umbrella stroller was fantastic. We actually purchased it specifically for the cruise, and used it all of the time once we got home. It was especially worthwhile in the airport where long walks are not uncommon. We used it a little bit on the ship itself, but mostly for shore excursions. Definitely take it with you!

I am pretty sure that strollers ARE available to borrow on the ship. They were on the March 6th Eastern. They are full-sized Graco strollers with cup holders, trays and a canopy. They actually looked very nice and clean. I saw someone returning them to Guest Services on Friday night. I think there is a $100 refundable deposit to use them and you can take them off the ship with you.

A word of warning. The elevators on the ship are VERY small. If you will rely on the stroller a lot on the ship, I may suggest you bring an umbrella stroller.

We have 3 and 4 year old daughters. They did not need strollers on the ship but when we were in port it would have been nice to have one.

If you do any of the excursions- there may not be room for a full size stoller on the bus. We had to step over a large one repeatedly on one of our excursions!
I would second the idea of an umbrella one!:D

Thanks Mickeyboat! I wasn't aware that strollers are available. I've always been under the impression that you had to provide your own. (Same as wheelchairs.)
