Everyone,

My DH and I finally decided to buy a double jogging stroller for our trip Feb. 10-15th to WDW. I had heard from several people that stroller stealing was not very common at Disney so I hadn't worried about it much. However, I was just talking about a co-worker and she had someone tell her the opposite and was warning me not to take it. We have already purchased the stroller and love it and really want to take it - but not if it stands a good chance of getting stolen. Any opinions? Anyone ever heard of a stroller getting stolen at Disney? If so, were you able to find it and reclaim it? Please help!!!!!

We have been bringing a stroller for the past 7 years on several trips to WDW. Never has been stollen and I have never heard anyone comment that they have had one stollen. Once you park your stroller in the parking areas, a CM may come along and move it, so don't panic, they just keep reorganizing the parking area as the people come off rides or shows and leave. I guess so more people can fit into the area.

I took 2 very nice strollers to Disney - combi savvy z - they retail for about $150-$190. We had no problems. My cousin goes every year, and since her kids range in age from 3 to 11 they have always had a stroller with them - never a problem.

The only stroller theft I have heard of is the rental strollers - people seem to just grab the first one that they see, without making sure that it is actually theirs.

First, if your jogging stroller has a front tire that doesn't swivel, you may want to look into whether an option is available for a set of smaller swivel front wheels. To turn with a wheel that doesn't swivel requires bumping the stroller up onto the back wheels and then pivoting on the back wheels to turn. You don't realize how many small turns are needed as you walk around WDW (many times to avoid people who stop suddenly ahead of you).
There are probably more "lost" strollers than actual stolen ones. Not only from CMs moving the strollers, but also from people mistakenly taking one that looks very similar to their own. I've heard that Downtown Disney is the site of a lot of stroller thefts; many more than at the parks.
You can't lock your stroller to[/] anything, but if you are really worried about theft, some people have locked the wheels together so it can be moved by CMs if necessary, but not easily rolled. Or you can put a lock across the seat, so it's not usable. Some people have put a lock in a way that prevents the stroller from being folded. That way, if someone does take it, they would not be able to fold it to go on the bus, monorails, trams or into their car trunk.

I always take our strollers and they have never been stolen. I agree that people sometimes grab the wrong stroller, so try to make your look unique but tying a bandana onto the handle or something. If you don't see your stroller where you left it, look around because it might have been moved by a CM.

FYI - we took a jogging stroller to WDW and hated it! The front wheel did not move and my biceps were killing me after the first day. They're just not good at maneuvering around the parks when you have to turn all the time.
