Stroller Theft

The idea with the diaper trick is to make the next stroller look more appealing than your stroller... Not to stop the theft. That is kind of why I park my dirty, 1996 GMC Sierra next really clean, expensive Lincoln Navigators and Cadillac Escalades...

Trust me, if someone is going to steal a stroller and not just the stuff in it, they are going for the stroller and ignoring the diaper. I don't think anyone would actually think someone would hang onto an actual dirty diaper. People don't do that.

Think of car thefts. It isn't the most expensive, nicest vehicles that are stolen; it's the vehicles with the most easily interchangeable parts. No one is going to steal a stroller that will stand out (nothing too nice or rare), but one that is nice and easy to resell or keep as yours.

I know I'm a bit off topic but I can't believe the amount of valuable property we saw left in pushchairs (strollers!) during shows etc. We saw a PDA / Blackberry type device in a buggy near Pecos Bills when we were eating lunch. Then walking past the Nemo show, we saw TONNES of cameras, video-cameras and even handbags left on strollers!!!!!!!!

There was a recent thread where someone's bag of purchases was stolen from a parked stroller. Apparently a CM took a report and gave the person funds to repurchase said items from a store.

This response from the CM received varied responses from 'amazing customer service' to 'it's not WDW's responsibility to cover irresponsiblity'

It does come down to a hefty chunk of personal responsibility; one can't take for granted, anywhere, that personal items are 'safe'. WDW is no exception, and probably a perfect place to steal something (even if the thieves are few and far between, it's a veritable buffet of unmanned strollers filled with bags)

It's always great to hear about any business going above and beyond standard customer service, but I don't expect it. And no judgment intended, specifically, but I never would leave personal items out to tempt someone. We don't use strollers, so that aspect is removed from the equation, but even with back packs or what have you, we keep them on our person.

Also, that is a really old trick.
Anyone who really wants to steal a stroller has known about that trick for years. Even though many people have only heard about it recently, it's been around since the early 1990s.
And, it's not very believable when you consider that there are trash cans all over. Why would anyone carry a real dirty diaper in the Florida heat when they can throw it away.

Then that is the parent's fault for not getting one of the "stroller used as a wheelchair" tag that Disney provides for people. I work at Disney, on my attraction you can bring strollers that fold up onto the ride, if it doesn't fold up you can't bring it on BUT if they have "stroller = wheelchair" tag they can go in regardless if it folds up or not.
If the parent chooses not to mark the stroller or get a guest assistance card, then I'm sorry you need to park your stroller.

I was not aware that Disney had tags that designated the strollers as being used for handicapped purposes. If the OP had made this clear I would not have felt the need to add this...I honestly thought OP meant in general that strollers used for such purposes/people had this clarification/designation on them, not a Disney tag. So sorry for the misunderstanding.
YEAH WDW!!!

Or leave it in a theater seat.... or their ride vehicle...

Sadly, I've seen Guests do both. And the look on their faces when I cheerily remind them, "Folks, it looks like you've left something behind" is priceless.
