Good Morning! We are debating if we are going to take or rent a double stroller for our two kids - 4.5 and 2 years of age. We currently have this stroller and had been planning to take all along: http://www.babytrend.com/joggers_double/DX60740.html. But recently we've been taking another look at it. We are staying off site and renting a suburban for the 6 adults and 2 kids that are going. We thought it would be best to take our stroller so we have it in the airport and we love our stroller given the cup holders, etc. that it provides. But it is big, wide, and heavy. So we are thinking of renting this: https://www.orlandostrollerrentals.com/OurStrollers# (Summit X3 Double Stroller). It's much smaller, weighs a lot less then what we own, and comes with the rain cover...however, it doesn't have the all useful cup holders and kid trays plus we would have to pick it up on landing and drop off before leaving town. But since it's smaller would probably be easier to fit through areas?....anyways, I'm just looking for others experiences and what you've found worked for you. Thank you in advance!!!!

We took our own, but I did notice when I was at our off site resort that at least Kingdom Strollers will deliver and pick up the strollers from the resorts themselves so you wouldn't have to worry about picking up and dropping off.

We take our own as well...Just a small umbrella stroller that's light weight and easy to fold. Plus we liked having it at the airport.

We drive, but we have taken our own every time. However, I specifically bought strollers for Disney. I got a cheap umbrella type when I had one kid in the stroller. It was cheaper than renting, and we went to Disneyworld twice and Disneyland once with it.
Something like this

Once we had twins, I only had a clunky double stroller that I used when they were in car seats. Once they weren't in removable carseats, we either did babywearing or babywearing and the single stroller. This wasn't going to work for Disneyworld, so I bought a used double stroller for $50...again cheaper than renting and it has gotten us through two trips

We fly and we take our own. We have a City Mini GT, the same kind that are rented out by most of the companies down there, but we like to have the stroller at the airport for toddler control. :teeth:

If you are not using Disney transportation I would take your own stroller... if you are using Disney transportation I would not bring your own, and I would buy (new or second hand) a double umbrella stroller.

We used our Joovy Scooter X2 double stroller with our 3 and 1.5 y/o boys in Aug 2015. It's somewhat of a deluxe double umbrella and it weighs 32lbs and was a BEAR to carry onto things like the Disney Railroad and sometimes just fit into the Monorail with the somewhat less than considerate guests around us. It did maneuver very well in the park though. If the Summit is 36lbs, I would say go for the basic City Mini at 27lbs. The Joovy does have TONS of storage underneath, way above average, so that was nice for bags, etc.

FWIW, if you rent, the Double GT Mini is a little lighter and OSR says the Summit's upright position is more reclined- which for us would be a disadvantage because it makes it harder for a kid to look around.

We rented because we were flying in, using Disney transportation and our kid was older. I am not sure I'd have braved the airport with a 2 year old without a stroller.

I always take my own, and always opt for the larger, heaver, but way more comfortable and easy to push stroller (City Select). Use what you are comfortable with, what your kids are comfortable with, and it'll be a much more enjoyable vacation. IMO with the large rental car, you'll be fine with the bigger stroller.

FWIW I cannot imagine taking an umbrella stroller around Disney. Well, I can, I did it once and never again! I also took our City Mini once, and again, never again! I will stick with the big, comfortable stroller with lots of storage space. I do rent a car and stay far away from Disney buses.

We always took our own. I never saw the point of paying to rent something we already have. Plus we are tall so we knew with our own it would be comfortable to push and the kids would be comfortable in it.

We've taken our BOB on three trips and never considered renting. We like having it in the airport; we gate check it and then retrieve it at our destination gate upon arrival. Our DS also likes being in his familiar stroller. He tolerates it very well, even at age 4, but wouldn't be as tolerant in a stroller that wasn't "his". The BOB is cumbersome and heavy (and the double is even worse) but we just plan accordingly to minimize folding and carrying as much as possible.
