Hi,
I am having a difficult time deciding what to do for "wheels".
We are coming from Canada in March with our 7,6, and 6 month old sons.
At home the baby uses an Uppababy Vista which I LOVE.
Our 6 your old is suffering from chronic illness now and won't be able to walk the parks this time. This is new for us so I don't have a plan yet. I was thinking a sling for baby and use the Uppababy for 6yo when needed BUT it has a short seat and although he fits it doesn't look comfortable. SO - does Disney rent double strollers, OR are there good rental companies that rent either double strollers OR child wheelchairs? OR do any of you have experience putting a bigger kid in a stroller at the parks. (I am sure there must be big kids who get tired and hitch a ride, just don't know which ride to buy :) For stats we have 7, 50 pounds, 44" who may want to sit sometimes if he can. 6, 40 pounds, 42" - MUST be able to sit and Baby who will be 6 months - flat recline is not needed but some recline is a must.
THANKS very much for your suggestions! :goodvibes

My baby is 5 so it's been awhile.

What about that style where there's a "seat" in the back for the older child? It's just a little platform?

Or there's those 3 wheeled kind that look like a jogger & the "infant seat" is in the back lower to the ground.

I am SO SORRY I don't know the names of these things!! Last time we went DS was 3.5 & it was a lifesaver, we just had the Chicco brand umbrella stroller. :confused3

Have you considered adding a RumbleSeat to your Uppababy Vista for your baby and a piggyBACK for your older child? We have an Uppababy Vista too and love it!

We have a Phil & Ted Sport Double stroller...it is amazing! I see this stroller all over DLR..it's so compact for being a double. My 4 year old DD who's 47" (she's taller than tall!) fits very nicely in the top seat and the 2 year old (38") is very comfortable in the bottom seat. They even switch spots sometimes and the Jolly Green Giant can slide comfortably into the bottom, but she's only 39 lbs...very skinny. I've heard there's companies that will rent strollers and deliver to your hotel...unfortunately I'm not aware of the names. As for DLR, they only rent single strollers which are nice, but you'll really want them at night for the walks back to the hotel. Good luck in your search!

www.Schnoop.com has a really nice one on sale today for $69.95-similar to a Mac. We bought a similiar version the other year from Silver Cross and it held up well..even when my 7 yo. 60 lb. dd would sit in it!
From the site:
What do you get when you cross brains and beauty? Why, the narcissistic writer at shnoop.com, of course. But what do you do if you're convinced, like we are, that your little bundle of joy fits the bill as well? Perhaps your resplendent progeny is not yet ready for a promising career at shnoop, you can certainly outfit the little one with the finer joys of life, namely, the feeling of being pushed around in a stroller-like caddy by his/her favorite sugar daddy. A stylish and ultra-lightweight stroller suitable from 6 months all the way through to toddler, the Silver Cross Fizz does just that. It takes a fresh, modern look at bringing up a child. Researched on the streets of the world’s style capitals: London, Paris, Tokyo and New York, Silver Cross has created a unique stroller that answers all the problems faced by modern, urban parents.

Available in Eclipse color, the Silver Cross Fizz is an ultra lightweight, stylish compact stroller that provides great comfort for your baby or toddler. It's suitable from the age of six months. An ideal choice for a day-to-day usage and holidays. Fizz is the ultra-lightweight stroller from Silver Cross and is one of the very few in it's class to feature a reclining seat back and reversible seat pad to suit your mood. The best feature is the removable and reversible seat pad. Not only does this make it easy to clean off the inevitable stockpile of squashed raisins, but your little one is also able to sit directly on the ventilated mesh seat - great during hotter weather.

Despite being so lightweight, the Silver Cross Fizz feels sturdy and robust. The size and swivel of the wheels combined with the position of the handles make it ergonomic to push and you don’t feel shudders up your arm. It also easy to maneuver. It has a discrete pouch in the pushchair hood, because it’s big enough to hold your essentials such as purse, keys and phone, but is not an obvious pocket enabling others to spot your valuables. For the amount of functionality it provides, the Fizz on Shnoop will be the best bang for your buck.

Fizz also features a large shopping basket, a multi-positional cup/bottle holder and an extremely useful carry strap. The ultra-lightweight chassis folds easily, and features our patented 'non finger trap' folding system to keep little fingers safe.

Basicly, the Silver Cross Fizz is an attractive, stylish, super lightweight stroller that’s easy to maneuver, fold and store away. The Fizz is comfortable for your little one as well as the person doing the pushing and comes with a number of useful features.

We're on the other end of strollers for the Park. We bought a Combi (I want to say City light?) and loved it. It is small and compact, not to mention lightweight and totally comfortable. My DD6 (then 5 1/2) rode in it quite a bit (she has JIA) and shared with the then 18 mo baby, and it got us everywhere we needed to go and was easy to navigate/park.

OP - where are you from? :) We just took our Maclaren double stroller to the parks for our 2 and just-turned-6 year old...

Hi Everyone - thanks for your suggestions. I am still trying to figure it out! I looked into the idea of the toddler board or rumble seat for my vista - BUT I'm not toally sold. Either he would have to stand all day which isn't going to work OR I would have to load my 6 month old under the bigger one and I am (maybe overly) worried about doing that. My first 2 are 13 months apart - for them the rumble seat would have rocked but back then we had a huge 50 pound tank of a tandem stroller. If someone told me a 18 months ago that I would be shopping for double strollers again - I would have laughed at them and said they were nuts :rotfl: Part of the problem is not knowing how long term needing another stroller will be. My middle son was just diagnosed with a rare disorder BUT we won't see the specialists until after our trip. At home as of now we just stayed home when he was sick (all the time), but sometimes that is VERY hard to do. Pre-baby I just carried him if he needed it. So I need to decide if it's going to be something I use a lot then I don't mind spending more on it. As of right now we are thinking either a sit and stand OR twin techno. I would prefer the twin BUT we aren't sure if it would pull to one side with so unbalanced of a weight load. Thanks for reding this looong rant - new baby x trip planning x sick kid is a little over the top for me! OH and we are in Vancouver, BC.
