Do they have a place on the buses to store strollers? The last time we were at WDW it was just me and my husband and I can't remember if there was a place for strollers or not.

No, not really...............occasionally if it was a really small umbrella stroller you might be able to put in under the long row of seats, but I wouldn't count on it. I would either rent one at the parks, or do like I did and invest in a Maclaren stroller for your trip. It was the best thing that I ever did! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info! We definitely have to buy a new stroller before our trip in June, but having a hard time finding one I like! I'm so used to have the cup holder for the parents that I don't want to give that up!:)

I definitely love my Maclaren due to the fact that it's SO easy to fold up and is reallly lightweight. I did buy a cup holder for mine that attached to it.

What is so special about the Maclaren stroller? I have a huge honkin stroller that I am just dreading on taking, but he will definately need something more comfy then an umbrella at 14 months old. How much are they too? Thanks!

I bought a combi for our trip it weighs 11lbs. When it folds it has a strap to put it over your shoulder..love it...

I got my Maclaren for my dd's first trip to WDW (she was going for her first b'day), because I had been to WDW 20+ times before and couldn't imagine dealing with a huge stroller on the buses, but didn't want to rent one at the parks b/c I knew that I would need one at other times. Plus, I wanted an easy stroller to deal with at the airport. I think that I found out about my Maclaren on here, actually. Basically, Maclarens are really nice umbrella strollers. There are different "models", and I have the Quest. It folds up SO easily, and is just as easy to open. It probably weighs about 12 pounds, the seat reclines partially, has an extendable leg rest, a canopy, and a small basket. It can hold up to 55 lbs., so that's nice for when your child gets bigger (all of these "extras" are on my Quest......some have fewer or more features). Mine is kind of middle of the road as far as price goes. It's around $169 for a new one, but I bought mine off of Ebay from a seller and got it quite a bit cheaper. You see, Maclaren comes out with newer "models" each year sort of like cars, with new colors, extras, etc. There are plenty of people that you can buy a brand new last years model off of Ebay, and that's what I would recommend doing if you considered purchasing one. There are cheaper models. The Volo is basically a really nice basic umbrella stroller and it's in the $70 range. Then there's the Triumph, which is nice, but doesn't have all of the accessories of mine and it's about $30-40 cheaper. I would recommend going to Babies R' Us and seeing if it's a stroller that you think that you would like. Good luck deciding! BTW, if you decide that you would like a Maclaren, I would be more than happy to give you the name of the seller from Ebay that I got mine from.

I think the Maclaren and the Combi are the two that I was looking at yesterday at Babies R Us! I am going to make DH go with us to see if he likes it or not and see if he has a hard time pushing it since he is taller than me. I will definitely have to have one for our DS 22 mos and don't want to lug around the one we have now!

I have a Maclaren Volo that I absolutely adore. I would describe it as a deluxe umbrella stroller. It folds up as small as an umbrella stroller, so it's easy to stow, and has a strap for carrying it on your shoulder, so it's very portable. It's very light and I can easily get it on and off busses and trains and trams while still managing to hang onto my 3 yo and the rest of our gear.

It has a big area underneath for stowing bags, jackets, water bottles, etc. In a pinch, we have also hung a backpack off the handles, which works great (as long as there's a kid in the stroller to weigh it down). It doesn't have as much storage a big, honking stroller, but I've found I don't want to have any more than would fit in a backpack and underneath, because it's just too much to carry on and off busses, trains and trams along with the stroller and the kids.

Maclaren's are incredibly sturdy for umbrella-style strollers. It's like comparing really good running shoes to cheap flip flops--they steer better, are easier to pop up and fold down, and are more comfortable to push. The seat in mine is made of a fine nylon mesh. It's very tough, but breathes in the heat. Best of all, if (who am I kidding, when) it gets rained on, one quick wipe with a resort washcloth and it's completely dry.

I think we paid around $80 for it 2 1/2 years ago. At that time, my ds was around 16 months old, and he did great in it all over WDW. But he was a co-sleeping sling baby, so napping all squashed up was not only acceptable, but preferable to him . HTH!

To the OP: no storage on busses. You will have to fold it up. If not crowded it can lay on the floor; otherwise, you'll have to hold onto it. BTW, our Maclaren fits next to us in the seat.

When I was at WDW a couple of weeks ago I saw a poor mom with 3 toddlers and two strollers, hold up the bus as she struggled to get all the kids and the strollers on the bus. I would definitely go with whatever is easy to manage and store quickly. By the time the poor woman got everything and everyone on the bus, the kids were all crying.

I felt bad for her but I was also secretly happy I was past all that. :)

I am definitely going back to Babies R Us and check on the Maclaren stroller after the rave reviews! I definitely need something smaller than our stroller that we have now and it has been used to death! Several trips to the beach and everywhere else! I looked at the Maclaren stroller the other day and hated to pay that much for it. I will have to see if I can find it cheaper somewhere else. Definitely will have to check out e-bay and see what they have. As long as my DS is happy in the stroller then it's a done deal!

I always help people in that situation. Lazy people always sit there and complain instead of getting up and helping. It drives me crazy. Mothers need all the help they can get with toddlers and babies, esp. mothers that go to Disney in spite of all of the obstacles they are going to face. You know at Epcot, you can throw a coin in the fountain, make a wish, and then go into Honey I shrunk the kids. When you come out, your kids will fit in your pocket. Then you don't need the strollers anymore. We do it everytime we go.

All joking aside, I challenge all of you to assist at least one person than you already do, esp. those single moms trying to share the disney magic with their kids. Next time you are frustrated with someone, ask yourself what you could do to assist them. =)

Just casting my vote for the Maclaren volo. We bought one over the weekend at Babies R Us (we tried out every "umbrella" stroller they had). It is soooooo easy to fold and the carrying strap is awesome. My husband is actually not dreading using the Disney transportation this time (last trip we had our big honkin' travel system stroller with us). Since my son is now 2, we don't have to carry as much with us, just a few diapers and wipes and maybe a juice cup. This is going to be the PERFECT stroller.
Oh...if you have a child who likes to recline, you might want to look for a different Maclaren (or other brand ) model. The Volo doesn't recline. This is a non-issue for us because DS hates to sleep reclined in a stroller (afraid he'll miss something, I guess). He normally falls asleep sitting up in that really uncomfortable looking pose that you always see kids in. :) He seems to really like the stroller too...and it sort of "hugs" him...very comfy. Oh...one more thing...the mesh material that the seat is made out of is great. I think he'll be much cooler this year than he was last year.

That pose is sooo hilarious. My daughter does that all the time. She leans left or right and almost makes an upsidedown "U" when she falls asleep sitting up. I see kids like that at Disney all the time and I can't help but crack up and think of my daughter. =)

We have the C5 Stroller, We got it at Babies R US.
I love it!! It is light weight, easy to carry when folded and the best part about it is it reclines!!! Can't beat that!! Dexter fell asleep in it many times!!

I guess "position" is a better word...but I couldn't think of it at the time. LOL Yes, my son is the same way. They look soooooo uncomfortable, but it doesn't seem to bother them.

We have a KidCo...and I LOVE IT!!!

This is how he looked sleeping...fully reclined. He slept ALOT in this stroller over the corse of the week at Disney. We didn't go back to our room because he slept so well in the stroller. I shopped and did other things while he napped.

We were able to put our backpack on the back of this stroller WITHOUT it tipping over when there was no child in the stroller...that meant alot to me. Even when there was a laptop in the backpack.

I bought this stroller off of ebay for about $80 I believe. It folds just like an umbrella stroller and came with a rain guard, boot, and a car seat adapter (so that it could convert to a travel system).

Decisions, decisions... I still haven't been to get a stroller yet, but I do plan on going and getting one. We went walking tonight and it made the awfullest noise and I was happy that our neighbors couldn't hear it!:rotfl: Of course we've used it for 6 years and couldn't have asked for a better stroller! It's been to the beach on a bunch of trips and has been used and abused! Maybe I'll go tomorrow and just get it over with!

A&J's mom,

Before you give up and purchase a new stroller, may I please offer a suggestion? There are two modern miracles that will solve most of life's problems...WD40 and Duct Tape. haha! In your case, WD40 should get rid of your squeaks and help it roll better. It gets the sand right out of my skateboard bearings, so it should get the sand out of your stroller's bearings. Give it a shot, or should I say squirt, before buying a new one! =P

Keep Smiling!

After reading all the posts for strollers, etc. I decided to buy a Maclaren. Have not rec'd it yet, but thought I'd share a website where I found the 2006 models to be pretty inexpensive. Just google and the name of the company is Baby Dealz. I got a Maclaren Triumph for $119 with no sales tax and free shipping. The same one was $149 at Babies R Us. I also found the universale organizer for 19.99 out the door at Baby and Me Boutique which was the cheapest I found. This would solve the cup holder issue. There was ebay seller selling Triumphs for about $118 and I felt better ordering from a company in case there was a problem, etc...........

Hope this helps : )
