Do you reccomend renting a stroller or brinig your own? We have a nice stroller but I'm afraid it will get stollen while we are on a ride or something, then I wont have a stroller for home! But then I hate to rent one when I have a nice one of my own. What do you all think?

i always recommend bringing your own stroller - when the kids were really small - and we knew that they could get tired at any time - we always brought our own carriage so that they could ride between the bus and the parks - and we never had a carriage stollen - but we've had two options - when the kids were really small we brought our fully reclining stroller - but we've also at times wanted to keep a stroller at home just in case the one we were using at disney broke - so once we didn't need the fully reclining stroller we purchased a cheap but sturdy unbrella stroller that we used for the trip - and justified the price by backing out how much the rental would cost us every day - it was worth every penny at the end of the day that we didn't have to carry the kids all the way from the stroller return to the hotel room -

I've brought some expensive (for me) strollers to Disney-single MacLaren and Peg Perego and double MacLaren. There are some much nicer stollers there too!!!! I don't every leave anything in the stroller basket unless its in a clear zip lock bag. I don't want someone taking my stroller thinking there might be something worth stealing in a bag. I also put a ribbon or bandana or something on the stroller so you anyone could see right away something unique and not mistake it for their stroller.

While I'm sure that people have had their strollers stolen at Disney, I think it is not that common. Most often, what I've heard of happening is that there's a case of "mistaken identity" where someone may accidentally take a stroller that looks like theirs, and even more common, the CM's move them around to make room for more (or move them out of areas are that are not designated for stroller parking) so sometimes you have to look around for it a bit. We usually wrap a brightly colored bandana around the handle so we could spot ours easier. You can use ribbon, or any number of things to "personalize" your stroller so it identifies it as yours. I've also seen it recommended here to put address lables on the frame underneath where people can't readily see it - that way if it does get taken and later abandoned (or you happen to spot it somewhere) you can prove it's yours. Personally, we've taken nine trips (all a week or more) to WDW with a stroller of some sort (ours aren't super expensive but they were still nice), no one has ever messed with them beyond reparking them in the same area. I've also seen quite a few really expensive strollers in the parks so if yours is that variety you wouldn't be alone. Personally, I think younger kids are more comfortable in their own strollers - they are not hard plastic, can recline for napping, have a better sun shade... Parents also find that their own strollers usually have more parent convenience features than the rentals - like a basket, cup holders, etc. Just some things to consider.

I rent. I think it's so much easier. I hate lugging that thing on the trolley, monorail or the ferry. We park since we stay off site. I have a 2 year old and 8 year old. My son is too old for a stroller but after walking for 5-10 hours he got tired. We got the double stroller and he would get in. It was nice to have. Glides easily, has good storage space and my daughter would sleep fine it. Well that was if she slept!

If your kids are very young you might find that you need to the stroller outside of the parks too.

I read a good tip a few years ago to 'personalize' your stroller that makes it very unattractive to others. Get a clear plastic bag that you can securely attach to the handle. Inside the bag place a diaper that appears to be soiled. Note I say 'appears'. I think some cola would do the trick nicely.
