stroller rental question - and it's not about the cost

My 4 year old son is almost 47 in. tall and 43 pounds. We are planning on renting a stroller for him, and I'm wondering if he is too big for the single stroller. I'm hoping not to pay $31 for a double. For anyone who's rented a single, will he fit and be comfortable?

You;ll be fine as long as you explain to him he needs to keep his feet inside the stroller (i was ready to kill ,my ds last time)
